Excuse me? Joshua went to hell and back, was out for the taking. Fury played with the fresher Vlad. Lets have it real pal.
Thought he would get back to it for ages but I think Fury is properly out of the game for good now. Shame, really. But anyways, the prime in shape Fury we saw out points AJ IMO. Too much movement, too much speed and too confusing for AJ to deal with. I wouldn't totally rule AJ out like, but all adds up to points Fury to me.
Where does this narrative that Fury is Ali-esque in his boxing ability come from? He's sloppy and awkward and doesn't want to get involved in a fight. He's a flim flam wind and p!ss conman whose greatest achievement was clowning his way to victory over the worst version of Wlad Klitschko there's ever been, Hell Wlad only threw 12 punches in the fight for christs sake. Before anyone tells me that's because Fury was so good, don't bother! Fury ran for the whole fight but flicked out enough sloppy arm punches to just about outwork a man who only threw a dozen punches in the fight. It's the closest thing to a George Formby movie that I've ever had the misfortune to witness in a real pro fight and it's a disgrace that the World Heavyweight title was the prize. When I think of the past wars fought by proud gladiators to win that title I'm disgusted that Fury managed to flake his way to wearing the belts. With any luck we've seen the last of Fury in the ring and his future involvements will be limited to cheering Hughie on from the sidelines.
You have to be delusional to actually believe that the stale, unmotivated, bored and poorly prepared version of Wlad Klitschko that faced Fury was anything close to the same as he was on the night he fought Joshua. That said, my previous post was all about Fury and the travesty which befell the Heavyweight Title that night. It's just a shame that the Governing body doesn't have it in their rules to take the belt off both fighters after a display in which neither deserve to wear it!
I think he's better than his handlers believe he is and he certainly deserves to be matched against higher quality opponents. Leaving the standard of opponent to one side for a minute, at least Wilder comes to fight.
