    I only seen him fight a couple of times and Im not sure he was actually that good at boxing, the fact he thought he was I think that was the problem.

    Not even that.

    It is derived from the Arabic term of someone knowing the truth, but deliberately rejecting or concealing it. Back in the day it was used to desribe a person who knew of God's existence, but refused to acknowledge Him. There are different levels/categorizations of kuffars.

    A person who genuinely doesn't believe in God or His existence, can't be a Kuffar. Because he/she is not concealing or rejecting anything that they know is the truth.

    Unbelievers, disbelievers and non-believers. So were both right, like many Arabic words its hard to define due to its interpretation.

    It's wrong to simplify it like that, because it creates misconceptions, and people continue applying it incorrectly.

    I mean, do you believe in God or a god?

    Then it would be wrong for someone to describe you as a kuffar. You're a non-Muslim and a non-believer, but you're not a kuffar.
