I just don’t know why but it happens all the time. It’s pathetic.
It's not that Team Yarde are being critisized for not immediately taking the Buatsi fight, it's that, despite the loud-mouthing, Yarde is being brought along much slower and given his current trajectory, him and Buatsi (or others like him) will not fight for years.
This reminds me a lot of the Price-Fury scenario when they were both on the come-up. Yarde playing the role of Price obviously....
They think it’s part of the promotion. But all it really does is dig their glass jawed hype job deeper and deeper into ridicule.
Can you imagine what most of the WBO top 10 ranked fighters would do to Yarde?
I always thought it was Warren protecting him but that interaction with Burton showed that its definitely Tunde Ajayi and Yarde himself who are holding up his progression. Use the fact that he is inexperienced and throw him in with someone worthwhile; if he loses, he's inexperienced and if he wins....HE DID IT IN 18 FIGHTS
That’s harsh on Price...fought much better competition
Just read that Frank Warren said Yarde will be in a massive fight this year. But after two more "learning fights".
Agreed. I'm pretty sure Price wanted the fight too it was Kelly M that didn't fancy going up against the Gypsy King.
Just added the pressure for something needlessly
Homer Simpson in human form.
I'm learning to not watch him. Is that the learning he means?
Am I allowed to say I think Warren is managing him correctly? Warren said they want the Buatsi fight, but he probably needs 1 or 2 more fights to be ready for that level. That's absolutely fair enough imo.
I also don't think Hearn really wants it right now, but it gives the fanboys the impression that Buatsi will fight anyone and Yarde is a ducker as Hearn knows Warren won't make that fight right now either.
And these "rumours" of a glass jaw, is there any actual quotes from anyone significant that that's the case? It's just a mere internet rumour at this point.
Bet this massive fight at end of year will be like a 41 year old Jürgen Brähmer or 39 year old super middleweight Arthur abraham
I’m with you on most points, but I took a slight bit of a turn against Yarde when he did that ridiculous IFL interview a month or so ago when he basically said he wouldn’t fight Burton as knowbody knows him worldwide or something stupid along those lines. His PR is absolutely shocking in general, a lot of which is due to Tunde who I like as a trainer, but he is cringey as hell.
The Burton fight makes perfect sense for Yarde at this point. Even if they said they where having one more fight in Feb or whenever than they Intend to fight Burton I think even the most staunch critics on here would be ok with that.
I can’t underatand why they don’t seem to want it, as it a fight the public want and would do decent tickets and one which he will win by KO as Burton isn’t even all that IMO - I would have thought it was a win, win for them.
The Buasti fight probably makes sense after about 2 more fights each, so back end of 2019.
Now the Negative out of the way, there is nothing at all to back up these rumours of a dodgy chin. I’ve only seen evidence of pretty immense power, good technic and decent fundamentals. There’s a lot to work with and Frank knows how to bring a fighter through.
In fairness, Burton is probably pricing himself out, like he did with Buatsi.
