Amin is a different style to yarde. I know what ur referring to, Lyndon is a slow starter sometimes and he was against amin. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying he's going to run rings round Anthony but I do think he's good enough to out point him in a close decision
I agree I just dislike how he backs straight up the ropes and lays there, he always ends up eating shots. He looked very poor against Amin, backing up in straight lines and then getting blasted and almost KO at one point, was getting tagged repeated with the overhand right. He looked to have improved some of those flaws against Spellman but certainly not eradicated them I think Lyndon can win but more likely Yarde KOs him
Have to admit i don`t know a lot about either fighter but from the little i have seen of both leaning towards a Yarde victory
I'm just not sold on yarde bud. Fed a load of road sweepers and lads dragged up from mw. Ok he had 1 good minute against a shot kov but was no where near in the fight apart from that 1 min. I dont want to him on too hard on Anthony cos I do rate him. But the years of experience lay with Lyndon. Lyndon has good fundamentals and also a good amateur pedigree. Just think he'll just have enough to out point Anthony. Thing is with Lyndon is he's not a showman unlike his stable mate Zelfa who thrives off the crowd. I think having no crowd will suit Lyndon. Good thing is that well know a lot more about both these lads after this fight. I'm really looking fwd to it.
Yarde walks right through Arthur and stops him in 5. This will not be even remotely competitive. Another brilliant stroke of idiotic matchmaking from Fish Eyes. Who somehow thinks because Yarde wasn't ready for and couldn't outbox SERGEY KOVALEV, one of the best pure boxers in the sport, with perhaps the best most authoritative jabs in the sport, that somehow the thoroughly pedestrian Lyndon Arthur will give him issues. What An Ass.
Tbh, I think if Frank was forced to favour one of them it would be yarde. He'd prefer yarde to win imo
Let's hope. I mean, if anyone thought Arthur was more marketable than Yarde, I think they'd need to promptly go have their heads examined.
I rewatched the Yarde & Kovalev bout yesterday. Whilst it was clearly Kovalev's boxing skills off the jab that won the day, one thing that was clear is that Yarde couldn't handle the power on Kovalev, so when Kov would throw a few off the cuff straight punches they would hurt Yarde who would back off. Whilst Lyndon certainly has the skills to land with a similar ease, I am not sure he has the power. Lyndon will need to box for 12 rounds because I'm not certain he is strong enough to stop Yarde in his tracks. It'll be competitive regardless of the way in goes, even if like CST says Yarde wins in 5 we will have likely lost every round up to that point IMO.
Prior to Arthur's fight against the Ghanian chap who's name I can't remember, I would of had Arthur to win pretty soundly, but he was so poor last time out so Im not as sure now.
Yarde impressed me last time out but I think Spelman had been softened up significantly by Arthur only a few weeks before. Yarde is a puncher imo and apart from Kovalev, he’s been put in with feather fisted fighters who he can just walk down and chin. Arthur has had similar opponents but he’s a much more rounded fighter. I personally think he’s been encouraged by his team to do the full 12 in his previous 2 fights with this fight in mind. Yarde goes out and gets the job done but he’s explosive rather than built for a high work rate. He’s not yet done 12 rounds, and he was that gassed by 11 rounds in Kovalev fight that he collapsed from a jab. In his head he cannot be 100% confident he can do the full 12 yet at a high pace. I also think he only has one plan...there is no plan B or C.
Evidently haven't seen the fight atall The Amin fight was a life and death struggle that by the time the fight had finished, it was up in the air who the winner was Prior to the Amin fight he was predicting an easy stoppage win, not a word about wanting rounds. It went 12 because Amin was walking him down, bullying him and making him fight for the first time in his career as he was there to win and not just fall over like the previous opponents
You’re right bud, he had a garbage night but that’s exactly what prospects need. That’s what they learn from, adversity. You might be right, he might not be all that but I was very impressed against Spelman who asked him the same questions but he looked a lot more comfortable under that pressure. He showed he had learned from the previous fight. I like Yarde, but I think Tunde is a muppet. It’s a novice guiding a novice imo. They’re learning together on the job rather than him having a trainer who knows exactly how to guide his fighter through a tough fight. Tunde got Yarde knocked out against Kovalev cos he didn’t know what he was doing. He told his fighter to go out there and blow his load and it resulted in him having nothing left for the 12 rounds. If Arthur is still there in the championship rounds then Yarde will be in bother.
