**Antonio Margarito is overrated thread**

I will stop assuming once these threads stop getting made. They are embarassing to us all.

I mean, in honesty, who on earth is overrating Antonio Margarito. Nobody is. He is just getting all the credit he deserves. He wasn't groomed to be this world champion like Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather was, he grew up fighting adults when he himself was just a boy, and eventually he got to the top. I have a lot of admiration for a man who has achieved that, so excuse me for jumping to conclusions when one kid sitting on his arse from home makes a thread entitled "Margarito is overrated".

 

So why doesn't Paul Williams get the amount of praise after beating the man who beat the man?

 

So basically you admit you are obsessed with Floyd and need to bring him into threads that have nothing to do with him to just **** people off?

In which case, I apoligise for saying otherwise.

In any event, I cannot relate to such comments like Margarito is overrated. Like you say, he has all the tools to beat anybody at 147lb right now, and I don't include Floyd because he is a retired fighter. I will say this, I think Floyd would most likely win if the two were ever to fight, but that isn't what this is about. For ever, Mayweather was talked about as being the best fighter on the planet without defeating top fighters at 147lb. It was an amazing accomplsihment to be successful at multiple weights like Floyd, but now Margarito comes and beats Cotto, which is better than any win Floyd has at 147, and he is being overrated simply because he is getting some air time on ESB. I can't relate.

 

His fans are easily overrating him.

 

But you shouldn't discredit a fighter simply because he has a style that you yourself dislike. You have no grounds to suggest Margartio is being overrated. If you do, please show me some evidence and I will quitely happily eat my words.

I am a Margarito fan, and I don't overrate him. I think a lot of his fans acknowledge that he is unable to adapt and there are fighters currently active who could beat him, but he is now the best Welterweight in the world. He isn't overrated, and even if he was by a small portion of people, does that justify such a thread as this. I highly doubt it, and I would love for you to acknowledge that also.
