ah cool, my bad :good (i STILL have to see that fight, was gone that weekend and never cought up on that one :-( i didnt know martinez was deducted a point, stupid ref :-( )
even rounds dont happen too often but ive seen them used by judges on a fair few fights (main events and club circuit), they are normally only used when theres a dour round where neither of the fighters do much to warrant the extra point. Ill have to look through my fight catalogue but im sure ive seen rounds scored 9-8 when there has been a mixture of knock downs/ points deductions
there you go http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:1221326 Judge: This content is protected 116-113 now admit you're wrong.
This is quite possibly the worst thread ever on ESB. Even rounds should be used more often. The reason we get so much controversy (apart from corruption) is because people are too ****ing stupid to score even rounds. When a round is that ****ing close, you score it 10/10. This thread is such an epic fail that it fails at failing.
lol DOAT I like that, but yeah, this fool was acting all arrogant calling people dummies and idiots when he doesn't even know how the scoring system works
This thread is funny. I love how the TS is an idiot spouting bs who is accusing me of being an idiot. The fact is, 10-10 rounds exist and are used to score even rounds. imo, they should be used more often if either fighter makes a clear case for the round. Some rounds are just too close to give to one guy or the other, that's why the rule is in place. It would be unfair to award a decision to a fighter based on a round that they didn't really win, that's why I have no problem giving the even rounds.
I agree that even rounds should be scored more often. If neither fighter does enough to win a round it should be even. plain and simple. I know I score them a hell of lot more than i see judges score them. reminds me several years ago when the LV commission told its judges to start scoring rounds more critically. Right after that Bones Adams fought Paulie Ayala (who had won about three gift decisions in a row) and lost a close decision that he should have won because at least one judge maybe more scored a 10/8 round in a very competetive round that Ayala happened to land a good shot in. No knockdown, very competetive round, but Ayala rocked Adams and got a 10/8 round.
