Foreman is just terrible of talking about boxing in which he does terrible talking about what the fighters needs to do or who's winning. Lewis is not very good at talking right but i atleast he's knows what a fighter needs to do while Foreman don't know ****. The onlything Foreman does well is he does funny jokes.
They got rid of him cause he refuse to go to the meeting in which thats not good to do. I hope Jones learns his lesson and hbo gives him a chance. Theres nobody that does better comminating then Roy Jones.
I think he's great and think one day he'll be on Showtime Championship Boxing instead of just Showbox. He has very good insight which is the main thing I look for when a former or current fighter is an analyst.
Teddy would average 2.1 murder attempts per broadcast if he was in the booth with Tyson BTW, I like what Tarver brings to the table.
I've always thought Tarver would do a good job. He's a smart guy who also hasn't taken too much punishment compared with most famous fighters. I hope he's able to make a go of it. Lewis has gotten better, but he's still pretty bad. If you go from Steward to Lewis like when HBO replays a PPV before a BAD, the difference is painful. Jones was my favorite, but apparently he blew off meetings and generally wasn't professional about the job. Never did like Foreman, and especially after the Hopkins/Trinidad fight.
Yeah, I wonder if HBO is not kickin' themselves in the ass for not snatchin' up Tarver too. But while some don't like Lennox (I do, btw), there's just no way anybody can be better than Manny Steward when it comes to boxing knowledge. **Which is what that 3rd role is. You have the blow by blow (think Lampley), the color commentator (think Merchant, or Kellerman) and the boxing analysist/expert (Steward and Lennox)...all those are for HBO of course, but either way props to Antonio for doin' a good job and prolly linin' his self up for better positions if they become available.
I wish hbo fired him after the Trinidad vs Hopkins fight. Him being way biased to Trinidad was a disgracful to say the least but the reason hbo didn't cause Goerge brings ratings with his jokes. Larry did owned Foreman though making fat Goerge look bad for being way too biased.
I have been damm impressed.....& i really AM a Tarver hater! haha! well good for him...Hopefully he sticks to it and can kick Lennox off HBO!
Good post and agree, my man. Now is it me slippin', or is having a boxing expert new for them?? Seems they always have the "blow by blow" and "color commentator"....Nick Charles and Farhood, or Gus Johnson and Bernstein. I can't really recall them havin' a 3rd man (boxing expert) at all if any?:huh:huh (other than rare occasions, or "guest" visits.)
**** Lennox....Get Tarver to do the BAD!!! & get Roy to replace Emmanual Stuard so he can get back to doing what he does best....TRAINING! & Max Kellerman should be gang-raped by the cast of American History X and sent into the wild!
