    It's an ugly fight, IIRC.

There is nothing wrong with Mexican boxing!

The old greats are retiring and more are making their way through the ranks.

Hold tight, pretty soon you will hear of some prospects taking down everybody in front of them. :good

I can honestly recall it's a good fight... specially for Acosta...;) Those uppercuts were a thing of beauty...

I didn't say it was necessarily bad, just ugly. :good Lots of dirty infighting and wild sloppy misses, etc. Not my personal favorite sort of styles match-up.

I agree... The boxer/mover in Acosta is a bad style matchup for Urbano Antillon... but Acosta ended the fight well... That's why I considered it a good fight... If it ended in a UD win for Acosta, I might have been disappointed with that fight...

just because mexico has several champs compared to philippines does not mean that we are not cut to become boxers. you're just a pathetic sonuvabitch seeking attention, and even your mexican brothers should be ashamed of you for what you've been posting here.

mexican boxing is great, but you are one ****ed up dude

I can show you an equal number of Pinoy contenders and prospects. Luevano is more of an American than Mexican. Thanks for posting but quality is better than quantity. Philippines has 5 world champs (more coming) and 2 boxers in P4P list. You've 3 (Marquez brothers lost and are sliding, Vasquez is inactive) Pac is still the #1, if you don't know it yet. :deal My point most of your top boxers are losing. :deal Don't you know that or you're just closing your eyes pretending not to know it.

    blue ray,

    you have 3 world champions.

    donnie nietes - minimumweight
    brian viloria - jr. flyweight
    marvin sonsona - super flyweight

nonito donaire gave up his flyweight championship and moved to super flyweight where he won the interim title. FYI, interim is not the real champion. pacquiao won the IBA title from hatton. most people do not recognize this trinket. sorry charlie, you've only got 3 world champions.

and didn't you say you were going to provide us boxing fans with all the philippines contenders and prospects? well, we're waiting! :nut

    hyperbone,

i'm a loser? say that to your pinoy fighters who are on the losing end of a 43-22-2 score with mexico in title fights. by the way, where is your big bad list of pinoy contenders and prospects? everyone here is waiting for yours and blue ray's big list. :nut

they're just coming out of a great era somewhat what of a golden age, so they're bound to have a little baron run while the new crop come through, these things go in circles as well.

They should just jump on Cotto's bandwagon. Close enough.
