    hyperbone,

just messing with ya dude. no harm or malice intended. seriously, have nothing against pinoys in general. i have lots of cool pinoy friends who i truly respect and have the utmost admiration for.

sometimes i, like some pacman fans, get carried away with our boxing bravado. it's just i sometimes feel pinoys have it in for mexicans in general. but i know only a few of them are asses.

tell you what, i'll chill out my **** and i'll give pinoy boxers the respect they deserve because they are some tough sons of guns! and i will say that i am a pacquiao fan but some of his fans make it easy to root against him. :good

    fitzgeraldz,

there are many people in mexico that seem to think saul alvarez is the most popular fighter in mexico right now. even more popular than chavez jr. i'll tell ya, these two could make it a very intense rivalry in the future. saul alvarez has got way better skills than julito but julito is also much bitter than him. still i think alvarez has more upside. this kid is really good for his age and i can see him becoming an ultra-mega star in the future.

    boxing4u,

yes, MexAzteca is an awesome channel. i've had it for about four months and i completely love it. in fact, i ordered the directv spanish movie package just because of MexAzteca, and espn deportes which shows Fox Combatientes and another channel that has Golpe a Golpe with Marco antonio barrera and some other guy as hosts. yep, i'm loving life!!!

Why is it that when a certain nationality/ethnic group talks about their own boxer they are called ******s and know nothing about boxing other than their own hometown boxer. Then when they show interest or talk about another boxer of another nationality/ethnic group they are shot down even more? Lose-lose situation.

One prime example is this thread. Another example is when some Filipino members gave props to Marquez for having balls to fight a boxer where he had immeasurable disadvantages, they got shot down for being non-Mexican praising a Mexican.

Just want to hear a solid explanation without insult because I think it's a legitimate question. Or is ESB just filled with racist haters? Is it as simple as that? You stick to your color, I stick to mine?

This thread is not Mexico vs Philippines. It's just that for the last 4 years, Mexican boxers are losing their crowns and some contenders are losing to unknown fighters. One fighter cannot measure up to the bar another fighter has set who's sliding from several weights to another. IMO, there is something that ails Mexican boxing. There must somebody who should stop up the plate and inspire others to do so. Many failed. Margo lost to Mosley in an embarassing fashion, Victor Ortiz (claimed as American w/ Mexican descent) lost to unknown Marcos Maidana. Pacquiao has been instrumental in inspiring Pinoy boxers to reach new heights. We have hundreds of youngsters from the grassroots level vying to follow Pacquiao footsteps. Anyway, please name one and justify, then I will request moderators to close this thread. I repeat this is not a Hate-Mexican thread. Far from it. I'm just interested in boxers from other countries. why Mexico? Because, Mexico has become a close rival of the Philippines in the lower weight divisions of boxing.

Donaire is there. This young champ at 10 Marvin Marvelous Sonsona is very promising. Brian Viloria is there also. In the lower weights, we have Nietes. More Pacquiao's are coming after Manny retires.

    Unlike PBF?

Did he not just come back from the sport from 21 months off and fight the #2 P4P guy...?

So JMM isn't a great fighter? Nor Ricky Hatton or Oscar De La Hoya?

Come on man...if Floyd would have lost it would've been the biggest mistake in boxing history to come back and fight someone on that level..

    stop it..

you act like mexico boxing is like the sinking titanic. There will always be that 1 star that can represent mexico to the fullest. He might not be known but he's out there.

now silverfags, it was boom boom bautista, then bernabe concepcion, and now marvelous sonona. (I believe he fought at pinoy power 2) I may be wrong but he still has a long way to go. which pinoy champ are you guys hyping as the next savior of philippine boxing...
