Sorry but at what point did you see Lara throw combinations in this fight? I disagree with anybody who had Lara ahead in that fight he was behind by 3 points IMO based on the knock downs.
Does anybody remember what Mosley did to Vargas. Did his gloves get confiscated? Somehow Castro will be blamed for this.
That was the first thing that came to mind when I was watching the fight you could see the swelling start to develope a few rounds before the stoppage but like I said we also saw Lara bump his head into Angulos head not saying his punches did not contribute to the swelling just saying that the headbutting likely started it. However a commission is not going to just take your gloves like that obviously they inspected them and felt something wasnt right with them.
You tell me where in the scoring criteria is combinations. Clean, effective punching is one of the criteria. You can achieve that without combination punches. You can disagree if you want, but you're misguided if you think your score is the only valid one.
Absolutely nothing was wrong with Angulo's face before the 10th round. He could have been on the cover of a mag before that thumb.
wow man a lot of people smoking crack here!! the accumulation of those straights hands cause that moster tumor in angulos face. you can see the round before that it was going that way. any one who thinks that lara did something dirty to win the fight is reall **** up
That's what happened. The hematoma was caused by the sustained punches that Angulo received. However, it did appear he was caught with a thumb in the 10th. Im not sure how you could conclusively say that didn't happen.
I am not saying my score is the only valid one I am saying that Angulo landed IMO at a higher rate than Lara did most was to the body and it was done with clean combinations it wasnt like Lara was blocking those shots with his elbows Angulo would hit him clean to the body with multiple shots while Lara would throw one flashy shot here and there and I am sorry but I will take Angulos effective work over the **** that looks good....
Im starting to side with Bazooka here in that the hematoma was created by all the phantom lara headbuts that nobody saw other than Bazooka. on another sidenote, I have a firend of a friend of a friend that said that after the weigh-ins angulo went to the hospital to have an emergency appendectomy just prior to the fight.
Here's the problem though, Lara landed more punches and at a higher rate. His punches were clearly pretty effective as he won by stoppage. Angulo clearly did a lot of good work himself, but he lagged behind Lara in most of the rounds.
I was being facetious. that straight left was landing all night and thumb or no thumb angulo eye socket broke. it was a helluva win for lara and really answers any and all questions people may have had regarding his heart and courage.
