I believe Wlad is waiting for the WBA negotiation deadline to pass in about a week or so a purse bid becomes mandatory which his K2 promotions will try to win.
Someone said both Wladimir and Povetkin may fight someone else first, then fight each other in Moscow during the summer. Is there any truth to this? Is Wlad looking at other options besides fighting Povetkin?
****ing Povetkin. Part of me thinks that Wlad should just chuck more money at him than he deserves and make the fight, just to get him in the ring and knock him to bolivian.
Who cares about Povetkin anyway? He's a garbage fighter, who went to war and scraped past Huck. It's hardly like he presents any sort of threat to Wlad. Fight him, don't fight him, who cares? It doesn't nothing for Wlad to beat such an average opponent.
It's at least a fight that will generate a bit of interest though. He's a paper title holder and he's a name in Europe. I'd rather that than him having to work his way down the list of names him and his bro have already beaten and just pick someone for the sake of it.
Isn't the WBA going to force Wlad to fight Povetkin next? They seemed very insistent on it a month ago.
My guess is Povetkin stands to make more money by forcing a purse bid so he is going to wait for that.
