Little to none. I respect DLH in the way he handles himself in defeat but he truly got what he deserved. It was coming and I too never saw it.

Thinking he needed to fight a guy moving up in weight like Pacman to help him get back to where he should be, talking knockout, etc.

Got what he deserved? What the hell is wrong with you people? Oscar said that he wanted a knockout to prove to himself that he was still a fighter. So.. that means he deserved to go out like that? You guys really aren't true fans of this sport.

I have no pity for him karma at its best. Oscar said someone was getting stopped never in a million years did he think it would be him.

Chavez had only lost one fight at that point. He was the Champion and still high on the pd 4 pd list. He was also about 3 years younger than Oscar is now. Chavez also went on to win every other fight of his for the next 3 years (besides his other fight with Oscar).

Oscar has lost 50% of his fights over the last 5 years, and doesn't even hold a title.

These fights are not comparable in that regard. Passing the torch? Yes... but not in the regard of it being the same situation.

I enjoyed every minute of the beatdown Pac handed him but DLH surprised me with one thing. During the post fight interview I was expecting him to go "but" and start with the excuses. He didn't do it and actually gave Pac all the credit. He was really humbled, one of the few moments when he didn't seem fake.

Yep, I was surprised too, no one would've blamed him for throwing a couple of excuses in but he was better than that.

don't feel sad for him. feel pride. he was one of the few who tried to promote this sport when it was obviously dying. he's the man. now let's see him use the cash earned to help those who helped him (inner city mexicans and blacks who spent money they couldn't afford to see him fight).

life is short, pay back hard.

    BS. This is even worse.

Chavez had been in many wars already, was the naturally smaller man, only 1 month from being 34, and the fight was stopped on cuts!!!

You should know damn well I am talking about the 2nd fight anyways.....
at that point he was 36 and still did A LOT better against the DLH than DLH did against PAC.

Oscar got the beating he deserved for taking the fight against Pacquiao - but it was difficult seeing him get battered from pillar to post like that. He looked pathetic.

He deserved that one sided beatdown. DLH's dream fight became a nightmare and serves his ass well.. What I and many others thought to be impossible was possible. A DLH win would have been bad for boxing in that our P4P champ gets beaten and possibly ruined by a naturally much larger fighter.

Why fight at the WW limit if it ain't for belts, against top 5 WWs, or just a natural WW? Like Pimp C says Karma truly at its best.

I didn't mind at first. But then it got down right embarassing and I felt a little for him. You can tell he was completely embarrassed because he didn't even belong in the ring with Manny, he didn't picture it going this way. But it happens and I can't feel too bad for someone who just made more money than I'll see in my lifetime in less than a half hour.

So because a nearly 36 year old Oscar De La Hoya gave us fight fans a fight that was a "dream fight", and took on the #1 pd 4 pd fighter in the world... he deserved to take a beating like that? You guys suck at being fans. Honestly.

Everyone can get over the much larger fighter nonsense... Manny didn't have an ounce of fat on him and came into the ring heavier than Oscar. People grow... this isn't anything new.

Maybe that Freak Show last night was your idea of a "Wet Dream Fight" but I called it as a farce months ago, and was angry at the 54.95 Pricetag. I still am. He deserved everything that happened to him last night for what happened June of 1996. Karma, baby. :fire

    No sympathy at all.

Watching 24/7 and seeing how self-absorbed he was - it was great to see reality slap him in the face. He and his camp was so over-confident - it was like he thought he deserved to win, like it was his destiny or something.

Hell - the guy got a minimum 22million for the fight, and still has an amazing meal ticket in his promoting business, that noone should feel sorry for him. He had an amazing career - the kind precious few ever get to experience, and he'll be just fine.
