Any word on Campbell and Smiths opponents next week???

Luke Campbell and Callum Smith are fighting in Cali on the Brook undercard.

I was just wondering if anyone had heard who they might be fighting.

I heard that Wilder and Linares are on the bill too so should be a decent night if they all get reasonable opponents.

 

No idea who they're fighting but I can't imagine the opponents being too difficult, especially considering Smith is nursing a bit of a hand injury and Campbell made his return to the ring after a 5 month lay off just a few weeks ago.

 

Wilder was offered Luke Campbell but he turned it down.

I heard TBA is stepping in to fight the pair of them at late notice.

 

I Heard Audley was on standby

 

Smith is a BIG SMW... It wouldn't shock me one bit if he managed to bomb Fraudley out

 

Campbell is struggling I thing,even with is lay off,on past performances he's never going to be more than European level,even if he makes it that far

 

Can we really gauge that just yet though.. he's only been a pro 1 year? It's taken Groves 5 years to reach world level, likewise if Degale get's his title shot this year it will have taken him 5-6 years.

Britain's most successful ever amateur, hasn't really put a foot wrong in his initial 6 fights as a pro - don't think he can be written off as not amounting to anything anymore than European level just yet.

As time goes on and he settles into the pro's I think we'll see less of the 'bouncy bouncy' amateur style & him sitting down on his punches more. Regular sparring with the likes of Burns and Mitchell will do him no end of good.

Nice to see Smith back in the ring so soon... He just had a tough 10 rounder, would be nice to see him fight 2-3 more times this year.

 

Its fair to say Eddie see's these two doing things in the US over the years so is using this opportunity to get them experience of travelling and a big fight night overseas. Their opponents will not be upto much and I expect both to come away with easy wins, more than likely with 2 KO's

I think Smith is nailed on for a 1st or 2nd round KO
