al is a hofer and hes true professional .....unlike larry he actually understand boxing from a technical standpoint the whole ST time is very professional and they'll call it even for both men
Yes. The Showtime crew seems a lot less "cheerleaderish" than the HBO crew. Just IMO. Seen Al make some wrong calls on punches he thought landed, but nothing that suggest bias. Just a bad angle from his seat and certainly not the norm with his calls.
yeah whenever an hbo or top rank fighter is fighting, the hbo crew is all over their dicks and never gives the other guys credit. Al is good, yeah sometimes he makes wrong calls but hes still very profesional and calls it as it is
i was thinking the same thing. add paulie to the mix and this will be enjoyable. i've been trying to tell ppl for years....hbo sucks.
Love Al Bernstein, the whole Showtime crew, in fact. Just can't stand that guy that used to call Mma fights.
Al is a professional and he loves boxing. That is what I like about him. Merchant and Lampley fell into boxing as a career event, but Al loved it from day one saying he used to hear the fights on TV when he was young on the radio.
Have yet to experience the showtime Crew.. Ill pay attention to the commentary. Though i usually block it out because of how bias it is ( HBO )
HBO has gotten worse and worse, even Roy is starting to annoy me. They were on some bull**** for the Martinez fight. Al Bernstein, Paulie and Steve Farhood are doing a great job.
Not really. Exciting is the last thing I think of when I hear Bernstein. Watching any old fight, it's great to hear him and Paulie and the rest make accurate observations. But in a big fight, the HBO team takes the cake. Lampley, despite his bias and inaccurate calls, is an exciting play-by-play guy and Max and RJJ fill the technical gap very well.
