Anybody else think RJJ is a big waste of time for Calzaghe right now?

Im my opinion, those who want Calzaghe to fight RJJ are more fans of Calzaghe than actually boxing. The fact that it will earn JC the most money and will boost his 'legacy' (to me this fight will actually hurt it more than boost it) doesnt mean **** to me. I, as a boxing fan, actually want to see a great fight against someone who actually has a chance of winning. It is gotta to be Dawson or Pavlik.

IRoy Jones is shot, but if Roy Jones is 10% of what he used he will win. Based on his performance with Felix Trinidad, Jones still has enough left to beat Calzaghe. Bernard Hopkins, managed to give Calzaghe his closest fight in 10 years. Jones is a league above Bernard Hopkins in terms of talent, and proved it when he dominated him all those years ago.

Hopkins was shot too, but in a different way. Hopkins is in incredible condition for a 43 year old but he hasn't got the stamina to beat someone like Joe. Jones has lost his punch resistance and reflexes. Although he is far past his prime, it wont cost him the fight coz Calzaghe doesn't hit hard enough to KO Jones. Calzaghe hasn't legitimately knocked someone out since Kabary Salem in 2004. Calzaghe's punches will bounce off Jones just like Trinidad's best shots did. He isn't going to do a Glen Johnson on him and knock him out.

Bernard Hopkins and Mikkel Kessler both had early success with Calzaghe, just by staying calm when he comes wildly swinging and throwing a text book straight-right, Hopkins nailed him with it perfectly in the first round, and did it regularly for the first 6 rounds. If he still had the ability to follow it up instead of clinching, he'd have won the fight. Roy Jones can, and will, do this to Calzaghe.

I've said that Joe Calzaghe gets beaten by Roy Jones for the last 6 years and I stick with it. But I confidently picked Jeff Lacy to kick Joe Calzaghe's arse so I might be wrong. :yep
