Further to an idiot placing Grigorian in the top 5 lightweights of All Time I did some looking into his record.
Grigorian never beat a currently Ring ranked lightweight and only fought 4 who were ever ranked by it ,but not within 3 years of them being ranked, he was a protected WBO Champion and I say he doesn't belong on any list of ATG Lightweights. What do you think?

Below I put, in no order, lightweights who are far more deserving of a top ranking ,imo.
    Ortiz
    Arguello
    Duran
    Williams
    Armstrong
    Ross
    Leonard
    Canzoneri
    Marquez
    Mayweather Jnr
    Casamayor
    Corrales
    Ambers
    Jack
    DeJesus
    Brown
    Buchanan
    Mosley
    Whitaker
    Castillo
    Montgomery
    DelaHoya

It appears that many rate Gans, Duran and Benny Leonard as the top three ATG lightweights. (I personally have them in that order, but am happy to see them placed in any order). How would you have the next three? Or do you disagree entirely?
Myself, I have: 4. Armstrong, 5. Ike Williams, 6. Whitaker.
(Shouts out to Canzoneri, Ross, Pryor, Arguello, Chavez, Mayweather, etc).
    Educate me, ladies and gentlemen.

I disagree a little bit; I have Ambers and Mosley over Gans and Duran not in the top 5. Then my next are Armstrong, Gans and Grigorian (if you put Gans out, then Arguello). Whitaker is top 10 too, Nelson, Gonzalez and Ortiz could be ahead of Williams.

    Ra's Al-Ghul, Sep 28, 2017 Report

Grigorian fought one top man Acelino Freitas ,and was knocked out!

what really sticks out to me is rating nelson, who had one credible fight at lightweight, and lost it, over williams.

I think he has a fair shout for top 100. His record looks good, maybe top 50. Wouldn't feel comfortable placing him any higher. But I'll watch some of his fights again. If YouTube has heard of him.

Not even close. An over the hill, untrained, second rater (Michael Clark) almost knocked him out. Gregorian is the perfect example of "belt holder" as opposed to "Champion."

Ok, not over the hill. But, untrained and unfocused. I know. I was out drinking with him several nights BEFORE the fight.

Top 10 lightweight of 1998 ?? Sure, but he's barely in the top 10 of the late 90's/early 00's let alone top LW's of all time.

Grigorian never fought a Ring ranked contender, ,he defended his title against a collection of assorted nobodies. The one and only time he stepped up to the plate quality wise,[against Freitas,]he was knocked out!
