Witter is a bit hit and miss styles wise...Remember the 'up periscope' stance he used in the De Corley fight? :patsch

i'm as much a hatton fan as i am of any british fighter at this level, but...

of his recent fights, i was bored by the second half of urango, but thought the first half was very good. collazo was a crap fight. enjoyed the tszyu and maussa fights.

i think he does a lot more than just hug his opponents like the haters claim, but i can see why his style pisses off a lot of boxing fans.

but to state the obvious...if you don't like watching him fight. don't...watch...him...fight.

    I like Ricky's style.

But I do not see him winning.

i think the holding thing has only become prevalent in the collazo and urango fights, and it's no coincidence to me that in both of those fights his conditioning wasn't as good as it usually is and i think he knew he was struggling, so he basically tied the other guy up.you see thats what the old timers used to call it.they were all at it.in his previous fights i wouldn't have called it excessive at all, however the haters have latched onto it as a weapon to cudgel wicky with.particularily o' something or other who used to be "sucka",who doesn't know wether he's coming or going with this fight because he hates them both!

Aye -but his hate seems to stem from his celebrity view of them both.
Wicky this - and Mayweather is a personalityless that..Who gives a **** about that - let them fight and judge them on the fight not the makeup :thumbsup

false hope, after seeing what collazo could do to him, i have a feeling PBF would give a worse beating to hatton then what gatti recived, floyd wont allow hatton to come near him he'll use his height and reach the fight could possibly turn out looking like lewis-tyson, a 1 sided beat down with a brutal conclusion

Most people who see this as being very one-sideed bring up the Callazo and Gatti fights. Gatti was shot (hell, Gomez did just as good a job on him as Mayweather did) and Hatton is no Gatti in any case and the Collazo fight has well documented reasons for Hattons poor show.

couldn't agree more.i'm a brit and want hatton to win,but i've got no problem with mayweather and his personality,he's a boxer for heavens sake,it isn't exactly new.anyway i think underneath all that trash talking facade lurks a nice kid.

Hatton was good to watch when he was beating up cans.As he`s moved up in class his not had the advantages that FW gave him fighting blown up feathers and guys who were powder puff punchers. To be honest i thought the Kostya fight was a debacle.Although it was a great result for him peformancewise id hardly call that the sweet science. I can appreciate guys like Duran Tyson Liston etc who were bullying bruisers but Hatton isnt of that ilk or style. His just a busy fighter who rough houses.

I find Hatton exciting because he puts it all on the line.... He's not afraid to have a scrap and can box and move when he has to. I notice the same guys who critisise his style also don't like his personality.... How strange.... If you don't like guys who crowd and rough people up i'd hate to see what you thought of Henry Armstrong and Rocky Marciano.
