Anyone else here think Mosley can pull it off this Saturday?

i expect him to win and then fight the winner of malignaggi vs broner.

Mosley might have something left. The guys he lost too, he'd have lost too 5 years ago too.

He might be able to do something against a fighter on the level of cano

no I don't think it means much. For a lighterweight guy who relied on speed, Mosley cannot do much in boxing now.

 

Mosley will look old,drained and he's turned into a plodding slapper.I wouldn't be shocked if Cano wins,but i think it will be a close decision for mosley and Cano is a tough muthaphuka who should be champion,if it wasn't for malignaggi's gift decision.

 

Hopefully Mosley goes in beast mode, make it a good last fight of his career.

The difference in class *should* be enough for Mosley to win, but make no mistake, the wheels are completely off at this point. The loss to Vernon Forrest was the beginning of the end and that was 11 years ago.

Makes we wanna go watch some of Shane's lightweight fights, prime Mosley was AWESOME.

 

Shane should definitely win. Against Canelo he wasn't schooled nearly as hard as he was against Floyd or Pac. He's fighting a much lesser caliber fighter, and a guy without a speed, size, or strength advantage. we know he's not half of what he was in his prime... But still half a prime Mosley is greater than a prime Cano... War Mosley

 

I love Sugar Shane Mosley , never ducked anyone , always wanted to fight the best , had a exciting style , loves going for the KO . No matter what the result in this fight is, hopefully he retires and we can all begin to enjoy the memory of him being the excellent fighter he once was .

 

if Mosely is not being tested then he always has a chance, unless its pac or somebody with real power to put him on ***** street.

I dont like this mosley guy as a human being. He clearly cheated plenty of times and got away with it. This man should not be allowed to box anymore. Why people condone his ped use, i guess people don't know the help that peds give you.

for instance, fighter 1 is clean and winning the fight. Fighter 2 is on HGh, EPO and and a form of testosterone. Fighter one is winning the first portion of the fight but like any human being that is clean starts to wear down as the later rounds come on. Fighter 2 is as fresh as when the fight started when the later rounds come in. Fighter 2 (Doper) is landing hard shots in the later rounds because he is not tired and causing great harm and a worn out tired fighter.

cano took that fight on short notice.

moselys going to have to dominate cano as the fight is in cancun which appears to be canos adopted hometown and hes also promoted by the crook de la hoya and gbp.

now that I think about it, shanes going to have to knockdown cano twice to get a draw.

 

Mosley should do okay. I don't know his plans but IMO the fight means nothing other than Mosley doing something active. He won't be a world champion again especially not at 147

IMO vs Canelo he looks good there for a couple rounds. But that was meant to be his retirement fight

 

Mosley has roughly as much chance against Cano in the main event as Rocky Juarez has against Sergio Thompson in the co-feature.

Both are too old for this ****. (despite Rocky being "only" 33)

That said, it wouldn't be the strangest thing to ever happen in boxing if they sprang the upsets. Cano and Thompson are dangerous but neither is terribly complicated or an unsolvable stylistic riddle - and one thing you can say for both Mosley and Juarez is they have excellent chins, so they'll be hanging around breathing down these youngsters' necks all night... :think

 

Mosley no longer has the reflexes required to fight at an elite level. I'm just hoping a faded legend doesn't take a beating.
