2) It seems I'm a bit more of a Sugar fan than you (the real Sugar, 1993-2009), since I do actually know WTF I'm talking about. After the loss to Cotto, Shane was counseled by Jin - who then was his manager - to have two more bouts and retire. He thought it made sense, and he agreed. Mayorga and Margarito, that was supposed to be it. Two guys tailor-made for Shane to still be able to dissect with his flagging abilities - a nice pair of victories over well-known names with excellent risk/reward ratio on which to close out his career and lessen the sting of losing to Cotto so that wouldn't be the lasting memory with which he parted from the fans.

Jin exits the picture, and the ****** commits stylistic suicide 4x in a row. Maybe about to be 5, depends on what he can summon up at this point. What's the lasting impression now? A former speedster who isn't half as fast as in his prime, a pitiful shell of that great lightweight, eating punches like they were candy and coming up empty-handed in an ill-advised 4-year addendum campaign.

Cano should get some credit, shouldn't he? Only 23 and he's been getting in the ring with some big game players pretty frequently.

If Mosely beats Cano (which he shouldn't) it won't look good for Malinaggi who got something of a gift against him

 

Hopefully Mosley wins and GBP try and feed Shane to Amir Khan...and Mosley sparks him

Not to mention that he took the Morales fight on 2 weeks notice. The kid is a very highly regarded Golden Boy prospect who will be fighting on a Golden Boy card being held in a venue where he is very comfortable. Anything can happen but it looks like he's being set up for success here.

i wouldnt waste 5 minutes of my time watching SSM as this point. dude is not only shot to bits, he hasnt won in like 4 years. he is gonna end up doing a pernell whitaker like final fight where his body just falls apart while swinging... i wont watch this former legend get beat by a guy he would have KO'd in 1 round 6 years ago

 

I mostly agree in sentiment, but am too much of an addict to not tune in tomorrow.

I do so even more reluctantly because the far more interesting co-feature fell apart. It was supposed to have been Sergio "Yeyo" Thompson (wrecking machine who popped on the global scene and garnered attention when he blitzed Jorge Linares) vs. Rocky Juarez (whose goose was considered long ago cooked after a nasty losing streak, but who dug down deep and beat Tony Escalante recently to show he still has the fire if not the physical gifts anymore)

Juarez pulled out and Thompson has a scrub replacement lined up, which drags this from a B/B+ card to maybe a C.

Maybe we'll be surprised and Mosley really can turn back the clock and produce a war or even upset against Cano - but I'm not holding my breath.

 

Ya, I feel the same. I've been a fan, and he's been hard to watch.

 

That makes two of us, I had no idea either. He should have retired over a year ago.
