Adamu and Soliman won eliminators. Solimans was against weakass Eromosele though. Basically, that they got to the point that they could fight eliminators is pretty horrible I agree (Despite Adamu beating Karmazin) Karmazin: Unlucky draw with then champ Sylvester, then loses an eliminator to Geale. Why he fight another eliminator? :huh Noe Gonzalez - Agreed. Horrible ranking. Britsch - Youg, talented featherfisted technician and was the IBF Intercontinental Champ. He has dropped that belt though instead of facing Benjamin Simon (WHo was the former I/C champ until he vacated due to injury) in Turkey. So he will be out next months rankings. Actually, he will be banned from them for at least a year.
atsch Do the sanctioning bodies pretend to have a legitimate system to their rankings, or do they openly make it all up?
Malden, isn't Simon-Britsch happening? Last I spoke with Simon was after Öhner had won the purse bid for the fight, something Simon was happy about. So it's not happening now? He seems to be busy in his full training schedule.. oh well.. :S
No, it is no happening. Sylvester fights for EU-belt the 25th instead. Sauerland did not want to risk to get robbed themselves :yep (Or having Britsch getting knocked out)
Thats too bad, me and Simon talked and broke down Britsch's style of fighting 2months back or so. I hope Simon can catch a break.
Me too. It would be interesting too see Simon against someone good :deal You talked with Simon? Are you the guy I think you are? :think
MrMagic I am a Bute fan but I respect everybody's opinion including your own. You are not being respectful to a champion but whatever it is your opinion you are entitled to this. But what I am curious about is if your opinion of Bute will change if he beats Froch convincingly. What I am noticing with Bute haters (not necessarily saying you are one) is that no matter who he beats they still find an excuse (i.e. Johnson was too old). Just tell me if Bute beats Froch convincingly will you still say he is a paper chapion? If if you will please provide your rationale so that I can understand you. And don't forget that Bute challenged Ward...Your definition of "paper champion" is also affected by other notable boxers that have refused to fight Bute (Ward, Kessler, Pavlik)
These people feel they don't have to go to Canada to fight Bute. I can only talk for myself, I don't hate Bute, I consider him to be the best or 2nd best SMW at the moment and years back i was actually a BIG fan of his even before he became IBF champ, but I don't respect him anymore, and won't until he fights a top fighter a'la Ward, Froch, Kessler or Andre Dirrell AWAY and even more important ditches his personal friend as ref, Marlon Wright from Montreal Canada, who not only was ref in the infamous Andrade fight but in Bute's prior 4 fights!!! EVEN after the Andrade fight he wasn't blacklisted from Bute's fights, no he was ref as late as Butes 2nd latest fight. As I have stated before, I would cheer for Bute if he ever fought Ward (unless Marlon is brought in as ref ;P)
WTF.... the last time i saw the ibf rankings i thought i remember seeing Adonis Stevenson's name on there.... hmm.... weird..
1. Pavlik had agreed to fight Bute, for Dirrell the money is in Montreal, Kessler had already planned to go the WBO way and did not engage in negotiations, Ward said Bute had to beat somebody and his hand is injured anyway. Did I miss anybody? Bute is on the verge of agreeing to fight Froch in Nottingham, the PR Director over at Interbox told the media it was being considered with Bute showing an open mind at this point. 2. Marlon B Wright IS blacklisted from Bute's fights in Montreal. That "late" fight was the Mendy fight in Romania, a homecoming Bute fest where Mendy had zero chance of winning regardless of the ref. Wright hasn't refed a Bute fight in Montreal since the 1st Andrade fight, and won't ref for him in Montreal again either. Boos be flying if he did. :good
