Would you like to bet? If you guarantee it, you should have no worries. Hopkins didn't even beat Wright's ass. He'll get outdone by Joe.

    Why leave?

If Hopkins fans are so confident why would they want JC fans to leave?

Surely they want to dishout some pain in the way of 'i told you so' posts and threads?

I know thats what i want to do when JC whoops the limp ones ass in his own backyard

However, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Hopkins sack swingers flee the site en mass much as the Kesslerites did. While they can brush off the RJJ loss as being when Hopkins was 'green' and the Taylor losses as 'robberies' the sheer scale and humiliation of this one will leave a decisive mark on the old *******s record...unless of course they say he was 'past it'

    one thing i do know

after this fight if it is close there are going to be 200 threads complaining ,
and if it is wide we will get 100`s of threads from posters i have never heard of before crowing from a clazaghe or hopkins standpoint depending on who wins.

Fair enough and I understand your point of view and your passion. You don't like this fight.

What if you throws his back out in round one though? What if he suffers a serious laceration due to a clash of heads and the referee calls it a punch?

    **** happens in this game.

Joe will not get hurt because he will expect Bhops to come in headbutting etc. If he is injured and the ref doesn't call it off, Joe will fight to the bitter end and win. It's just the way the man is.

If Joe loses, I will have to reconsider my perception of reality!:D

If Joe loses, I will stop posting, including under any aliases I may or may not have. :deal

BUT, Joe will NOT lose. He will be so dominant that the ref and judges will not be able to rob him of victory without causing a riot and pretty much destroying the game.

Reason why I started this thread, really, is more as a protest against this fight, in the first place and secondly, to show Joe's detractors who predict that he will be blown out of the water by a 43-year old Hopkins that I am not standing for this bull****.

Only about 50% will be glory hunters. The rest will be aliases making the kind of fuss and giving the kind of **** to the losing team that they wouldn't dear on their main account.

I think the mods need to scrutanise the IP addresses of any newbies making excessive noise after that fight.

    Yes, I know this.

What i'm saying to you is two things. 1) If Hopkins cuts Calzaghe with a headbutt and the ref calls it a punch and stops the fight, or if Joe Calzaghe herniates a disc in round one, you have to stop doing something you love and ESB loses a good poster for no reason, as far as I can see. In sport, these things happen.

Then there are middling concerns. Calzaghe will struggle to beat Hopkins if he breaks his hand very very badly in round two. He will still be in the fight, but he could certainly lose a close (perhaps contested) decision in these cirumstances. Dec, that's a considered possibility. That could happen. You know that.

Finally, it's a live sporting event between two top athletes, one superior to the other. The unthinkable can, and has happened in these circumstances. IF Hopkins won this, I would not consider it the biggest upset in boxing history, though I would be astonished. That means fights have taken place, in my view, where a victory for the underdog was less likely but the underdog still achieved victory.

    Think about it.

Why leave the site to have it overun by back slapping morons Decebal? I've made no secret of the fact I'm going for a close Hopkins UD on this one but if Joe gets it I'll give him his due. I actually feel like some of the irrelavent international bull**** has died down in recent weeks which seems to be the fuel for most of the petty squabbles on this site.

No doubt we'll see a slight resurgence of that behaviour in the aftermath of the fight but the morons with nothing more insightful to say will soon get bored. I feel you can tell a real boxing fan apart quite easily as they are normally more objective with their arguments. The likes of TFFP & MasterCalzaghe (who I think are the same person) actually make me want to see Joe lose because their only contribution is one liner, back slapping remarks that are used to turn any thread into their own agenda.

These kind of people will be the ones throwing the insults but the boxing fans will remain magnanimous.

Yeah, you are right. Thanks for your concern. :good

But I am stubborn and love Joe. I am willing to take the very small risk that he might get injured. I wishe Joe would have taken a harder fight, but if this is the one he has set his heart on so badly, I am with him. However, I don't suppose I will gloat when the old man gets demolished. He will be much older than Joe after all and deserves a lot of respect for getting in the ring with the best. :deal
