Cotto is like a machine, and i mean this by the way he thinks. He is very paitent and sure he squares up a little and gets hit, but like the machine he is the adjustments are made and the opponent is systematically beaten.

I think Cotto will win but Gomez toughness, strenght and size will give him problems and I see him wining by UD.

Looks to me like Feliciano got decked by the sneaky left. Happens to lots of guys but that doesn't mean he's got a weak chin. Those were pretty flush left hands. Like the announcers said he wasn't very experienced versus southpaws.

Just remember Maxx ... Juan Diaz and Nate Campbell ...

People thought that Juan Diaz was going to blow through Nate Campbell ... Campbell beat the baby bull at his own game ...
It might have been an upset in some people's mind but it wasn't in mine ...

I see the same thing happening to Cotto ...

Just as it wasn't in my mind. Still, there's no comparing the gaps in skill level between Cotto-Gomez and Diaz-Campbell.

I don't necesarily agree with you on this point. Based on the article it seems that he was hurting to the point were he was vomiting at training camp his doctor asked him to rest for 2 weeks in which he declined becuse it was going to overlap with the fight :huh

If this is all true as I think it is, he is going to have a very hard time, specially when Cotto starts to land the big body shots. I hope all of you Gomez fans do not use this as an excuse that he was fighting sick.

LOL! your such a goof at times I swear its an act. How in hell could you compare Juan Diaz vs Nate Campbell with this fight????

Just like when you compare the Trinidad vs Bhop fight to a Cotto vs PBF figtht.....where the comparison other than the fact that the fight with gloves?????

Your predictions are so flaky you contradict yourself in every other post. I'm officially putting you down for a Gomez victory I'm tired of this "I have a feeling his gonna KO Cotto but Cotto is gonna win a hard fight"

Make up your mind fruit cake

Cotto is going put a hurting on that big headed *****. Cotto is knocking him out in 2 rounds. Gomez' lack of skill, power and speed plus the fact that he had to overcome illness during his training camp means hes in for a short night against Cotto. Hopefully, Cotto has mercy on him.

Well, we dont always have to agree, but one thing we can agree on is that im not a Gomez fan, im a boxing fan, and although im also a big fan of Cotto, i always try my best to maintain an objective approach when analyzing fights, or situations. I dont think Cotto will lose to Gomez, but how do u expect to believe the pancreas illness is going to have an effect when Cotto pounds him, and then say that u hope Gomez fans dont use this as an excuse. :bart Dont get me wrong, i get where ur coming from, there are a lot of Cotto haters out there, who are actually hoping that he loses rather than actually thinking of how the fight is really going to play out, but the point is that Gomez didnt ask for a post ponement or anything, so now he has to deal with it, another thing is, he never really mentioned anything to the press, until he was asked about it especifically, which only tells me that he is not looking for excuses, his making this set back an inspiration action in his mind for him to overcome and being able to perform at his best, because if at this stage he starts crying over the pancrea inflamation he will just be known as the guy who folded under the big lights, or under pressure, and i really think thats out of his character.

an udefeated guy v a guy with 5 losses ... the difference gets no greater than that. Especially considering that the guy w/ 5 losses got embarrassed and knocked out by Robie Peden.

Now in the case of Cotto v Gomez ... I think its the same way ... now I don't care either way it goes because a loss or a win does nothing for Cotto and it doesn't hurt his elite status.

But there's a sense that Cotto could overlook Gomez -- he has many distractions .... the riff w/ his uncle ... two big fights on the horizon and a mega fight w/ PBF.
