I think Holy's shoulders' and rotor-cuff was ****ed up as early as 1994 with his title loss to Moorer in Vegas........... Heart Attack or Stiff Heart syndrome---BULL**** story........... Holy's problems were in his shoulders.... All the juice and weight training obviously tore something up that hindered his ability....... If Holy expects the fans to believe he was cured by faith healer Benny Hinn, well then, Holy's full of **** to the maxi-pad....... :good:scaredas: MR.BILL
Honestly, I've seen worse decisions rendered before..... Holy did drop Moorer in round 2..... I think Holy did enough to at least get a draw in 1994......... Moorer was unimpressive in winning the title......... :deal MR.BILL
I had Holy winning closely as did most everyone else including Atlas who had his head down as soon as the bell rang. Moorer on the other hand was sure he won the fight...:blood
Agreed, It was an indecisive win for Michael Moorer, and considering that Holyfield was the defending champ, it would not have been unreasonable for the tables to turn slightly in his favor. The old adage that you had to "beat" the champ, to become champ, had gone out decades earlier, but in this case an exception could have certainly been made. Now that I think about it, had Holyfield's health conditions prevented him from returning to the ring, it would have been a good focal point to stop, had the decision been awarded to him.. He had already established himself as the best cruiserweight of all time..... He had earned a heavy weight title shot by beating a string of rated contenders..... He knocked out Douglas who had beaten the man.. He signed to fight Tyson, who was exiled from boxing to no fault of Holyfield's..... He had regained the title against a formidable Riddick Bowe, and IF he had beaten Moorer, it would have been another defense against a 34-0 professional....... He would have retired with the claim of never having been stopped, being a two time heavyweight champ, and losing only once to a man who he gained revenge against...... Of course, hind site is always 20/20...
