Anyone still think Anderson Silva better than Fedor?

Anderson has been fighting in a weak division with fighters that suit his styles. No matter how much Dana White spins it, the record will forever show that Anderson Silva lost 40% of his pride matches while winning 100% of his UFC fights.

It could be that the Japanese in his weight were better grapplers or that the ring didnt allow Anderson to keep the distance. Whatever it was, its clear that the more dangerous opponents for Anderson is in Japan which he is currently ducking.

Also as for the four in your list, the only credible fighter there is JDS. Brock couldnt handle punches (imagine what Fedor and Overeem would do to him) and Carwin cant last over 4 minutes (east target for Fedor). As for Cain, the guy is still green and unproven IMO and Barnett failed the drug test in the last minute.

Silva has defended his title more times than fedor and has been the number one middleweight and p4p best fighter for more than two years. While silva was defending the title two years ago. Fedor was fighting no one or freak shows in the likes of 7 foot giants and fat sumo wrestlers in japan, and ufc rejects.

 

Anderson has NOT had a better full career than Fedor.

Anderson in Japan was pish in comparison to Fedor, infact it does not even compare.

I don't deny Fedor has done more then any other HW and his record may never be compared to.

But when you call him the GOAT and he was offered an immediate title shot against Lesnar, big money and every consession M1 wanted except co-promoting which is an obvious joke and fights Brett Rogers.

So he goes to SF and fights brett Rogers a prospect with a fluke win over AA, the guy will never likely win another legitimant fight again. overeem made Rogers look like a clown in the ring.

most top guys always talk about wanting to fight the best comp out there, you'll never hear Fedor say that will you.

 

Frankly the UFC Fedor not going thing has been utterly done to death and I have no intrest in re-hashing the same arguments over and over, ad nauseum.

You didnt hear Fedor talking about fighting the best Comp in Japan when he was beating the **** out of the best comp. Fedor doesnt really talk all that much about who he is fighting and never ever calls people out. Why should he change now?

Has Fedor beaten better fighters than Anderson? I would say yes. My post was in response to an "anderson is better than Fedor, overall" type feel in the other guys one.

Anderson Silva is 3-2 in pride but you all seem to forget that he was the one who unified the title against the PRIDE MW CHAMPION DAN HENDERSON...

Fedor has never been an undisputed champion. He will go down as the best fighter in the weakest division in mma and the best fighter of a corrupt organization that didn't **** test their fighters. Its why most pride fighters couldn't cut it in the ufc.

Its hilarious that your idea of a GOAT is a fighter who made a career beating hasbeens jap pro wrestlers and freak shows like Zulu and Hong man Choi.

 

Fedor got caught in a move that he could not get out of. He wasn't out-maneuvered for 23 straight minutes, losing every second of the fight. There is a huge difference and I'm surprised you, who IS good poster and knowledgeable are even pretending not to understand the difference. :deal

I would agree with you if Fedor in the past hasn't proved he can handle BJJ, but he has...so it didn't show a "***** in his armor" it simply showed he made a mistake, thats all. But what happened to Anderson....after seeing Luter mount him, Henderson completely control him for a round and then Sonnen do it for 4.5 rounds, that seems to be a serious "*****". Of course Anderson has proven to be EXTREMELY dangerous and durable even while being controlled and that much cannot be argued.

What concerns me is that he got stunned standing and pretty much out-struck by a non-striker. He got owned on his feet and on the mat for the 4.5 rounds.....that has NEVER happened to Fedor, or GSP for that matter. :deal

Fedor hasn't fought a guy with a bjj belt since Nog in 2004. I know it's surprising guys like HMC,Zulu,Linlund,Coleman and Rogers arn't high level BJJ fighters. Actually Tim Sylvia has a belt...purple i believe so big Timmy has the highest bjj credentials since he fought Nog.

 

Ok....but he still fought a prime Nog, twice. Controlled him on the ground, beat the living **** out of him and didn't get subbed. I'd say that is proving you have at least decent BJJ defense wouldn't you. Trust me, Sub defense IS NOT one of Fedor's weaknesses, he just made a mistake against Werdum
