Your missing the point. BoD was citing Anderson getting mounted by Lutter, controlled by Hendo, and rocked by a non striker in Sonnen as evidence that Silva wasn't as good as Fedor. So what to say of Fedor getting mounted by Mark Hunt, slammed by Randleman, rocked by a non striker in Fujita, etc? If your gonna compare the fighters you have to hold them to the same standards.
valid point: Hunt nearly subbed him as well, that was not the best night for Fedor not a valid point: Randleman was freakishly strong and athletic in his prime and Fedor reversed him and subbed him like 30s after this slam not a valid point: well this can happen in >30 fights with those little gloves, don't you think? This happened only once to Fedor (he is one of the least hit guys in MMA BTW). He recovered fast, rocked and subbed Fujita 2 min later... not that much, eh? You should check your standards sir! A. Silva was dominated in the stand up (!) and on the ground by a 20-10 fighter for 22 min (props to Sonnen though). That never happened to Fedor. In fact he has only a couple of fights longer than 1 round... Whats laughable is that Silva is sherdogs p4p No1 and Fedor is out of this list after the loss to Werdum... crazy
First off, Sonnen landed less than ten power punches and only two jabs on his feet. Hardly enough to say he dominated Silva standing. Secondly I'm just trying to have an honest discussion, and citing Silva's tough moments as evidence of Fedor being better while ignoring Fedor's own tough moments is completely dishonest. Don't take my points to mean that I believe Silva is better p4p than Fedor because I probably don't. I'm simply disproving BoD's argument.
I'm not a finkel fan either. He is just as bad as Dana if not worse, he just does'nt have a large platform to **** people like Dana does. Fedor would be better off without M1. Of that I have no arguement.
Right there you proved my point. It was'nt Fedor ducking ANYONE!! It was M1(politics) getting in the way. Fedor wanted to go to the UFC but M1 owns him for 1 more fight. It does'nt benefit Fedor at all if it is a co-promotion. That all helps out Finkel****.
Weakest divison?:rofl:rofl Currently you MAY have a point. But back when Fedor was the champ in pride during the heyday 2003-2006, the heavyweight divisions were stacked.
Now you are exposing yourself as the TUF noob I suspected you were. "Almost subbed by Hunt"? You mean how he CALMLY slipped out of the kimora and applied one of his own? Great point:goodatsch
Funny how you change your arguement to suit your needs. I agree, he was not getting dominated by andre, he was getting outscored briefly until he decided to finish the show and turn arlovski into a footnote of mma history.
What argument am I changing? If you are comaring Arlovksi v Fedor to Sonnen v Silva, you are mental. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=245626&page=4 Check the gifs in that thread for evidence. Silva lost 4 rounds, regardless of how hurt you want to believe he wasn't, he still lost 23-24 minutes of that fight straight. He got dropped, he got hurt, he got taken down, he got his guard passed, he gave up his back (wrestling ride, not hooks). And I have been saying Silva deserves credit for the win as much, if not more, than anybody. Arlovksi landed a few jabs. So what are you talking about?
No you are further exposing yourself as the dumbass everyone knows you are for taking my words out of context and attacking me for irrelevant details. Are you seriously going to deny that Mark had Fedor in trouble in that fight?
Yep. Spider is still higher than Fedor at this point. Silva took Chael's best shots and still wouldn't allow himself to lose. He gets a ton of points for showing true grit. This is what legends are made of. If you don't see this then I feel bad for you. Fedor seems to have slowed down a bit in his last two fights. He slightly struggled with a tomato can in Rogers and didn't at least show any counter moves against Werdum's triangle. There's such a huge double standard against Silva. Stefan Struve mounted a great comeback on the same card and he became a stud. Silva, on the other hand, took an even worse beating, scores a win near the end, and gets discredited. It's a ****ing shame, especially when his fight could end up as Fight of The Year and possibly the greatest comeback ever. Wake up guys. Silva might be an ass at times. But he is not any worse than Lesnar or Nick Diaz when it comes to tasteless behavior. Put your contempt aside. Give credit where it's due and call it down the middle.
Part of why Fedor is so great is the fact that he can overcome adversity and pull off a win. Silva showed the same thing last weekend and he should get the same amount of credit Fedor does. I recall Fedor being manhandled by Choi until an armbar was locked on the Korean giant. Subs are part of the game and are perfectly legal. If you can't defend against them then you don't deserve to win. Neither Choi nor Chael Sonnen deserve to win against a legend. Doesn't matter how much they were dominating prior to getting subbed. I'd love to see Chael get a rematch. If he beats Silva then I will gladly admit he's the better fighter. But until then Silva won fair and square last weekend. You can't call yourself the winner when you blew a huge lead and was almost choked out.
Choi is about 7"2 and 350 lbs and was subbed in the first round... you can't compare that. Chael is Silva's size and dominated him for the whole fight.
