Hey, I am all in favor of Wlad fighting Chagaev too.

Wlad looks unbeatable now, sure. What is the most important thing in my mind now is CROWNING a heavyweight champion, whether it be Wladimir, or Chagaev, or Ibragimov, or even Peter, I don't really care. Frankly, it doesn't really matter WHO the HW champ is, because even if they aren't the best, they are boung to lose to someone better, and then THEY are bound to lose to someone better until we have a true champion.

John Sullivan PROBABLY wasn't ACTUALLY the best boxer in the world, after all. But through him, we found out who was.

But we can only have a universally recognized champ win the paper chumps start fighting each other.

The only reason Peter is calling Klitschko out is because he wants a big payday before he gets knocked out by a bum. If Jameel McCline almost KTFO then pretty much any decent heavyweight with pop could do it too.

Fight the right fight first before calling out other names.

    Peter/Maskaev!

I agree. It would be a waste for Klitschko to rematch before there is unification on the line.

Exactly. It continually amazes me that any boxing fans give any legitimacy to the bogus sanctioning orgs and their illegitimate title belts. Who cares? Let the best fight the best to determine who "the man" in the division is.

Just like it USED to be.:yep

He wont beat either Klitschko, but if he wants to face them and soon, then he is a credit to the sport of boxing...a true champion who is willing to take risks. Whether or not Duva and King will let him face the Klitschkos is another story.

If Wlad can´t unify he should box Peter.

Two young heavyweights will fight :happy :happy :happy

The two "old" man Maskaev and Vitali can fight for the WBC belt and Vitali can make the Klitschko dream came true and then retire again.

Definitely Peter should fight Vitly first to earn shot at Wlad.
Seriously he got gift with this iterim title and his first defense
against undeserving contender was very unimpressive.
Lets Peter pay for the gift first and earn his shot at Wlad.

WTF has Vitali done to deserve that fight?????? :huh

Let him fight a few bums first before he gets a title shot. All he has done over the past few years is retire, eat bon bons and not be able to make it through a single training camp.

    Pa-leeeeeeeeeze. :-(

Two months?, is Peter crazy?, he just came out of a tough 12 round battle that he got hurt BADLY in and knocked down 3 times, he needs a rest before fighting again or he will get knocked out next, ESPECIALLY against Klitschko.

Vitlai in 10? Judging by the way McCline hurt Peter, Vitlai takes him out much sooner. McCline, who was much older and comming off an injury exposed Peter. Now the entire boxing community will fear Peter much less. Fighters will enter the ring knowing if they land some punches, Peter can and will go down.

The question is can Vitali stay healthy? I think an estimated 250+ combat matches in the amateur and professional kick boxing, and boxing has taken its toll on Vitali’s body.

Vitali’s body has probably been hit or kicked 7,500 in the ring in organized matches by heavyweights, and this does not include any of the tens of thousands of rounds sparred. The next time a writer opens his mouth about Vitlai being injured, someone should ask them if they ever were in the ring and have been hit in their life.

Peter is along the King boat. SO he will probably fight some King bum, forget about unifying as long as king is with him.

That HAS to be bologna. He was #2 before he fought McCline. He BEAT McCline. Therefore he is still #2.

Until I see significant improvement from Peter, imo a rematch with wlad isn´t really interesting.

Maskaev would knock Peter out now.
Vitali would do the same, I think this is Vitali's best chance at getting the WBC, he needs to act quickly though.
