But Maskeav won't fight him...I say screw waiting another year for Mask to get injured again and retire...stay busy and get in the ring with whoever you can...
Dude, I actually agree 100%. I PERSONALLY didn't have him ranked #2, but a whole helluva lot of people did. I thought, and still think, Sam Peter was a total fraud. He doesn't train hard enough and he isn't nearly as powerful as people think he is, couple that with a lack of boxing skills, you have a total fraud at HW. But it doesn't matter what I personally think, I think the broad majority opinion had him at #2.
any chance peter faces chagaev next?? that would be an interesting fight, i think wlad should fight the winner of holyfield/ibragimov.. thats how i'd like to see it go down
Ive said it...I will always say it. I favor Wlad vs ANY HW out there. He is a monster. But against a heavy hitter, he ALWAYS has a chance of losing. He can be hurt and already has been by Peter. My pick would still be Wlad, but anyone just counting Sam or any big puncher out vs him isnt looking at the big picture.
Wlad would probably beat Peter again, maybe even worse. Vitali is not worth signing a fight against unless they get a good guarantee of making money regardless if the fight falls through. Vitali's body can't take it anymore so basically his presence is just taking time and attention away from possible matchups that can take place.
All i know is that Vitali Klitschko has no business factoring into the equation after pulling out for the 5th time in a row from a fight. He cost 2 fighters both time and money although McCline did get a title shot out of the deal. I don't blame Peter for anything that has happened. He's not the one backing out of fights and avoiding people. I'm sure Maskaev is just chomping at the bit now after seeing the McCline fight. Too bad his chin is still suspect against anyone not named Hasim Rahman. If you think Maskaev will beat Peter you're sadly mistaken. Everybody thinks Peter's chin is shaky now. When you get hit by an uppercut by a guy as big as McCline it's gonna resonate throughout your body. Peter will still walk through big right hands, which is all Oleg really has to begin with. He developed a nice left hook recently but at the end of the day his right hand is his bread and butter punch.
good post, the fact Peter wants to get back in the ring again as soon as possible is a good sign that the knockdown didnt really bother him too much. I think Peter could still knockout most fighters with a suspect chin like Maskaev,Wlad if he catches him, and Golota, Peter will come into his next fight better than ever.
Exactly. I've been saying Peter hasn't earned the #2 spot since he never fought to get his belt, and 4 other guys did. He was no higher than #5 IMO before he almost lost to McCline.
Agreed, this is HW boxing after all, Tommy Morrison once said that any guy over 200 lbs. can knock another guy out if he throws his punches just right..................or something like that.
Assuming Vitali is healthy and close to where he was when he left off (gigantic assumptions, I'll admit), Vitali KO in 1, maybe 2. I forgot about ring rust. 4.
Sounds about right. If Maskaev is able and willing, Peter must fight him or the title reverts to Oleg. Same for Oleg/Vitali. If Vitali is ready and willing (a BIG if), Oleg (or Peter) must fight Vitali.
Well, then I am sadly mistaken, cause I see Maskaev winning a TKO, or possibly KO, over Sammy Peter, late. :good Peter sounds rediculous running his mouth callilng out those who've already hammered him (Wladimir). Cause Peter has other obligations, as everyone already knows............Peter is required to fight Maskaev, next. Peter will get his ass whooped by Maskaev, and his interim title thing will disolve before it ever became a full title aquistion..
