Archie Moore vs Gene Tunney

Those versions ,Tunney by decision.

 

Gene in front through out the fight. Any close exchanges are few and far between. Tunney by clear decision.

 

At this stage of his career Moore didn't have the wheels to be effective against the quick on his feet Tunney.

 

The best Tunney always beats the best Moore.

 

There is a good case for believing this is so.

 

I agree with this

 

Tunney holds the edge no matter the versions involved. Matching him with an older Moore only stacks the deck further in his favor.

 

At heavyweight would clearly favor Tunney (for me)...but at light heavy, Tunney might possibly fall into a Moore trap...and lose. I think Tunney at heavyweight became a more complete figher than at light heavy...and consequently Moore was much better at light heavy...than heavy.
