my experience is mitts are much lighter and more for speed ball, and light pad work. I wouldn't wear them to hit a heavy bag

ok so in that case can i use my mitt gloves for sparring?

I want to have a max of two pairs of gloves for boxing.
one for bag (16 oz)? one for mitts/sparring (10oz)?

Use the same pair for mitts and hitting the bags, and another pair for sparring.

    ^^ what he said.

Plus. I would switch that. Use the lighter gloves for mittwork and bag (I use 14oz).
Use 16oz for sparring. Most gyms don't allow you to spar with anything smaller than 16 oz.
