And was there a cap when it how much he could rehydrate back up to?

The Pac camp wants him to come in at 145 and then not rehydrate past 153. They should ask Miguel to wear 24 oz gloves and let Manny wear head gear while they're at it.

That is a very good point. The shorts probably weighed half a pound of so (could well be wrong) and cutting that away would have not been hard.

I have come to the conclusion 145 would be ok. Cotto should strip at the weigh in though (no homo).

He's been having problems making the ww limit but he'll be stupid if he move up to 154 pounds cause he'll be really a smaller fighter in which it's too high for him. But having difficulty making ww is the only thing Cotto need to do either that or retired. But losing 3 more pounds to 143 in which thats what Roach wants is going to kill Cotto body and ruined Cotto career. If Cotto wants it 145 pounds then i guess it's a fair weight cause as you said it's 1 pound under that he made 146 pounds vs Clottey. But if Roach and Pac team ask for Cotto to only weigh in 153 pounds on fight night is proving Pacquiao don't want to face a healthy Cotto.

145 should make zero difference- Cotto knows what he has to weigh in at and was 146 without needing to be for Clottey. That's the floor of what he could make without adversely affecting his health or his performance, and if the fight takes place there, it should be a non-issue.

Anything below 145, and that's the danger zone we'd be getting in to and it would be a factor in the fight. I wouldn't want to see the fight happen at anything 144 or below.

Exactly my point. He came in at 146lbs when the limit was 147. He can make 145 no problem.

Bingo my ass. Go back and read my posts. I never said there wasn't a ceiling, I just illustrated why 145 will be no problem for Cotto. I guess everyone is missing the point as usual.

Aside from the weight, I heard Roach's latest demands involve Cotto entering the ring in shackles and Pac having the option of being replaced by Wladamir Klitschko if the fight isn't going his way.

this weight issues all boil down to what pac and cotto camp will agree upon, if they agree to a certain weight then they are good with it, if they don't agree then they can easily protest and the negotiation table will be set again..

what are these some posters saying or shall we say assumptions is what makes this fight looks complicated in the eyes of neutral fans which i think is the one that is a dumb thing to do..

don't look dumb, stop making assumptions..

If those few pounds don't make a difference why do you suppose Manny's camp is bitching so hard over it?

By the same token, Miguel and his team know his body better than Manny's camp does. If Cotto decides to sign on for the weight because he judges that it's worth the massive payday and he can do it, shouldn't he be the one taking responsibility for making that decision? If he can't lose 1 pound from the Clottey fight, it's his choice to decline.

My prediction? He'll run faster towards those millions dangling in front of him for a Pac fight at 145 than a cheetah chasing down Usain Bolt.
