    No.

Punchers chance and that's it for Ortiz.

No many people are trying to build up a fight that is really one-sided. Ortiz is a punching bag, he is there to be hit all the time.

People are talking about his passion, his youthfulness and that he is a lion - people have been watching Rocky too much.

Ortiz is serveral levels below Floyd and has almost zero chance of the upset. He is nowhere near an elite fighter and would lose to Pac, Bradley & Khan. He has once decent win over a poor champion and I do think I am underrating him when I say he is a hype job who has already been exposed.

If this was an active Mayweather, say 5-6 months off the Mosley victory, then no, people would not be underestimating him.

However, this is not the case. Ortiz CAN catch Mayweather cold, but only if Mayweather allows it. Ortiz most likely posseses the punching power to hurt/stun Mayweather, finishing him off is another story. Ortiz took Berto's legs in the first round, but couldn't finish him. This was not down to Berto's recovering abilities, or Berto's ability to survive. It was down to Ortiz's not so great finishing ability/recklessness.

No, but they're probably over-estimating Floyd. The man is still dangerous, but definitely past his prime. It will be an interesting fight to watch, simply to see where Floyd's skills & speed are at at this point.

A danger for Ortiz, is if he goes in there ONLY looking for a big punch, instead of putting his punches together.

Ortiz would get knocked out by Shane Mosley. He doesn't have a chance against Mayweather.

Ricky Hatton is a lot better than his record shows. Hatton has athletic ability on the same level as Floyd and Pacquiao, he just lacked the skill.

Ortiz does not have the athletic ability. He lacks the footwork or handspeed of Hatton.

Definitely, he needs to put his punches together if he hopes to have a chance.

Anyone who goes in to a bout looking for that one big punch, 9/10 will lose IMO. Especially against someone like Mayweather.

Ortiz would probably lose to Ricky Hatton if Hatton hadn't retired.

Ortiz just does not impress me. He reminds me a lot of David Diaz, he just will never have the boxing skills to be an elite fighter. He will be a good champion and thats it.

That triangle theory doesn't really work, especially when you take everything into consideration.

thats dependent on mayweather retaining his speed. if he's lost even a little bit i cant see him just peppering ortiz at will. ortiz is very aggressive and throws in bunches. plus mayweather doesn't have the power to keep ortiz off, there will be no holdiung and catching ortiz on the brake. or if he does do that ortiz will catch him. too.

I'm not underestimating Ortiz. I just know he won't win. No Ortiz fight has showed me he would give Floyd problems. This fight is going to be easy work for Floyd.
