Are some boxing judges corupt

    Some are incompetent, some are corrupt, some are both. Doug Tucker must have been scoring fights on some sort of drugs. The scorecard in Mijares-Navarro was shocking (a shutout in favour of Navarro, a clear loser) and he said there was no mistake on his scorecard.

    It's gotten much MUCH better but I still think that there is so much subjectivity in scoring that I don't believe it will ever be done away with completely.

    You could substitute almost any profession for the one highlighted in red, and the answer would be yes, some of them are corrupt.

    Some bad decisions are genuine incompetence but some are SO fkd up - & in big fights quite a lot too - that it leaves all sane people with the conclusion that no **** could be that incompetent, they are corrupt fat *******s.

    It needn't be so film noir, TS. It's implicit: If the promoter's fighter doesn't get the benefit of the doubt, the judge doesn't get another invite, 'n the promoter can keep his hands clean.
