Do you guys think mma strikers/boxers are born and not made? I think Bas Rutten said this once but, I could be mistaken. It seems alot of the guys in mma can't get the flow needed be a slick striker or the technique to be a powerful one. I'm talking about the ones who come from less striking centered backgrounds. Is it the way they train? What do you guys think? :think
I agree with Beebs. Certainly strikers are born - but they can be made as well with proper technique. Frank Shamrock is a great example of this. He had absolutely no striking ability when he started his MMA career. After he was beat down by John Lober he went back to the drawing board and studied kickboxing under world champion Maurice Smith. After that, his kcikboxing improved exponentially to the point where he was picking people apart and even won fights in K1 at one time.
Everyone starts off somewhere, some people start off better than others. There are blokes born with no hope though. :rofl
yeah punchers are born but great technical stricking is just like anything practice practice practice although some pick it up alot better than others like mayweather!
I wouldn't say so. Technical skills come with practice, although obviously some people pick them up quicker than others. And like Beebs said, certain traits people possess help as well.
