I know Taylor's career went downhill after the Pavlik fights, but given how Hopkins career has progressed since their two fights. Are Taylor's wins underated?

Very underated. Taylor had his time at fame but then all of a sudden he got a glass chin. It was so ****ed up. Sometimes being on top you get an ego. Think your untouchable.

Those hopkin fights was him at his best

Calzaghe's very close victory over Hopkins is what pretty much makes Calzaghe an ATG, yet two wins over a younger Hopkins from Taylor don't even register.:huh

as good as Calzaghes win over Bhop. naturally Calzaghe didnt get sparked out by pavlik after it or froch or abraham. but people do tend to forget about these wins.

Taylors use of his double jab in first 6 to 7 rounds was fantastic. if i can remeber probely he slowed towards the end hopkins closing the distance

When he was finished, do you judge Ali by the same measurement?

Or Pac or Hopkins who got beaten in their careers by far bigger no names than Pavlik.

Come on man get realistic No way in hell Calzaghe beat Hopkins No way in hell is Slappy Calzaghe an ATG either. The proof in the puddin was when Slappy turned down a rematch at home in wales. He knew Nard would kick his ass up and down the rhonnda valley 3 times:yep

Hopkins is 1-0-1 against Taylor by my scorecards and I also had him winning the Calzaghe and Pascal fights.

Great wins but not a great resume. Put it that way. It's like wearing a pair of really nice shoes along with a potato sack.

i didnt think he was finished in pavlik fight to be honest. plus Ali was a heavyweight who only had most of his really bad losses in his late 30s early 40s. no comparison

plus even when fat ali was beat by spinks even at his advanced age he came back in a rematch and took back his title.

No, because he didn't conclusively win either fight. Even though Hopkins no longer had the stamina to keep up with a young, fast opponent for the full 12 rounds, he still did enough to draw one and win one vs Taylor by my cards.

Hopkins had a 25" inch waist against Taylor and seemed drained of strength

honestly check out the eubank thread after michael watson for what i think of Calzaghe.ask headbanger or bailey or any of those guys.

lets just say im not a fan

but i thought he beat hopkins

i wanted him to lose and was cheering but after initially schooling Calzaghe i honestly feel he was outworked. **** slappy punches are better than no punches

i had him up by a round so like i say close victory

hopkins gave those fights away with inactivity and being over cautious. Taylor didnt really land much on hopkins, he just threw more punches and stole the rounds.
