And why should they give a voice to ideologies that have led to the deaths and genocide of hundreds of millions of people in 20th century?

 

Excellent point; and yet the ideologies of the left, that helped the masses of the working class of the particularly the 60s and 70s are now ignored by the right wing elite of the beeb.

 

The BBC could afford Froch vs Groves, Froch is getting 1.5 mil and Groves around 400k, they can afford to pay failing executives millions of quid and they pay that old fart Bruce Forsyth god know how much, they could afford 2 or 3 big uk fights a year.

Trust me, I've interviewed Barbara Slater and can tell you that as long as she is in her position the BBC will not invest in boxing.

ITV losing Champions League rights and C5 not having any Europa League though is a different story as it may mean they spend some money on the sweet science. ITV only pulled out last time because of financial problems and C5 need another promotional outfit to add to the Hennessy shows.

 

I think the Hennessey shows haven't even too bad if a little bit lacking in terms of quality. Is there a promoter in the country currently (who isn't tied to a TV contract) who would be able to put their product on terrestrial TV? I can't think of one.

 

Boxing comes with a lot of problems for terrestrial TV.

The main one is the regularity with which shows get cancelled. Outdoor broadcasts cost a lot to set-up and then there's the costs of promoting the event too. Unlike 99% of other programmes they could spend that money on, one injury and the event is off. E.g. Haye v Fury. Lots of risk, for relatively little reward.

Realistically getting BT Sport involved is more likely than ITV or BBC doing so again.

How do people feel knowing that your TV license money has been used to fund systematic child abuse on a large scale?

 

Many Many regimes have had the odd good point to them. But this does not mean that they are inherently good.

The fact remains that anytime socialism has been fundamentely tried it has failed massively and resulted in very dark periods of history.

Communism and socialism to some extent would be the perfect sollution to a perfect world.

We don't live in a perfect world which is why it will never work.

The evidence could suggest otherwise. A healthy dose of Socialism in Britain post WWII led to the National insurance, which meant you did not have to worry the cost of being ill, and you were also given a pension when you retired. The cost of living was dramatically decreased and wages increased for the working class all the way through to the mid 70s.

But since the end of the Socialism experiment in the UK, those outside the elite have seen no increase in wages after inflation, and indeed in recent years a significant cut in real income.
