Chavez decision. I think his defense is underrated. The perfect pressure fighter and too much heat for Arguello.

    Arguello by a whisker

All things considered and compared, Arguello is the smarter and more adaptative fighter here

I don't know that Chavez has the style to win this one over 15 rounds. I'd favour Arguello in that scenario. Over 12 I could see Chavez pulling it off by decision.

At 130lbs, its a really tough one, but i would probably favor Arguello by a close decision.

At 135lbs, Chavez takes it IMO.

Chavez beating rosario is one thing, but beating arguello is a different story. Arguello, while not the most athletically gifted boxer, was an absolute technician in the ring. Every punch that he landed hurt and he was a master counterpuncher able to land to the head and body with equal proficiency. This would spell trouble for chavez who would assume the role of the aggressor.

Though chavez was solid defensively he was no pernell whitaker and he would definitely get hit on the way in. Arguello, being the accurate, pinpoint puncher that he was would land shots which would be doubled in effect against and onrushing chavez, which would eventually result in a late round stoppage.

Arguello would win but he would not stop Chavez. UD, but a close UD.

A probably controversial close war that could go either way, the only guarantee is that it will be a brilliant fight by 2 of the best ever.
