that's not even boxing but rather a clear case of running and in Vilomar's back yard of NYC.

did you actually see Arguello-Fernandez 1? I already told you it was held in Vilomar's backyard of NYC. ANywhere else and he wouldve been booed out of the stadium and deducted points for not fighting but instead the crowd erupts if Vilomar so much as lands a harmless flurry on AA's gloves. It was an embarassment in my opinion but since the whole crowd was behind him the judges dare not dissapoint the crowd

I had it about 7-3 if I remember correctly. Fernandez was fighting very conservatively but he was also outboxing Arguello in pretty much every exchange. If you think Arguello won that fight I'd like to see your scorecard.

I'll review it later tonight when I get back but I dont remember having Fernandez winning. I didnt let the crowd influence me the way the judges did. the decision was bogus

Arguello was an ordinary ten round fighter.

Yeah, he just didn't seem to be able to adapt his mindset for those ten round non-title bouts.Fought as if he had much more rounds to work with than was the case.

you can compare Arguello to the 1990sCowboys where they wouldnt show their true colors until post season and then they start masacring the competition

Two chances for Arguello to win:

    1. Catch Mayweather early with something big as Floyd goes about the business of measuring him in the first couple of rounds.

    2. Apply pressure with the hope that Mayweather tires and leaves himself open.

I don't see either happening, to be honest. Mayweather generally tends to accelerate in the later rounds of his fight as well, and I think would limit Arguello to landing one punch at a time. Could Maywethaer take those punches? Yeah, I think he could, since his toughness might be one of his more underrated attributes.

    Mayweather UD, imo.

Arguello looked past Fernandez to a mega fight with Duran, and just flat out screwed the pooch. He beat Fernandez with relative ease in their second meeting.

Philla nailed it almost perfectly in his first post. The only thing I would disagree with him about is that I think Alexis needs a 15 round fight. In that case, he gets his timing down, starts picking up momentum, and puts Floyd away in the championship rounds.

The idea that AA had trouble with slick boxers is an internet myth. In 90 pro fights he lost to two slick boxers, and he very clearly avenged one of those losses.

I'll take Arguello,Mayweather took more chances at 130 just enough for Alexis to time him and then lights out!
