I agree, both have huge egos and both would want to take more credit for Manny Pacquiao's sucess than is really merited.

 

Roach is one of, if not THE, best current trainer. I'm sure he's a nice guy. But fact is, he made racial slurs and instigated this situation. He can be a ***** too, we all can.

Perhaps as a person, sure. I do believe you. I'm sure there are tons of people who have known Ariza for years who say the same things...

But as far as Roach's public image goes, his career in boxing, he's a hypocritical egotist who never thinks before he talks. He routinely tries to talk trash even when not at all or ever so slightly provoked. He loves the spotlight. He contradicts himself all the time. He almost never has a good thing to say about former fighters. He claimed he didn't know what steroids were in 2009 despite giving detailed interviews about PED's when James Toney popped while training under him. He talked trash about Amir Khan that directly contradicts what he had said about him for years just because Khan left him after two straight losses.

I have seen too many videos from the snakes' own mouth "incriminating (not in a legal sense)" himself in just some of the ways I've detailed above to feel any different.

 

It's no coincidence that Pac-fans are all siding with Roach. Just like Floyd fans would side with Sr. In the same situation probably. Fact is, everyone played a part in this situation.
