When have I ever said that? Ariza is a disgrace to the sport of boxing and Hatton was well on his way to knocking Pacquiao out before Ariza's PEDs kicked in.
From the accounts I remember, Roach walked into the gym and was told Rios was just finishing his workout and they'd be right out. Things escalated when started slinging expletives and things like "dumb mexican". Rios was finishing his workout and team Rios was'nt ready to leave. I know I'm not wrong here, and I'll say this with conviction, its not up to Roach to clear the gym. If the gym is'nt suited for him to take over, he has to take it to the gentleman who's renting it to him. It is now that gentlemans job to clear the gym for Roach and make certain the gym is ready "in time" next time to please "Sir Roach!" If it were the other way around, and it was Garcia demanding Roach leave the gym immediately, I'm certain Roach would have gave him a big "**** YOU!"
I still have mixed feelings about this one. Roach was being racist. There's no excusing that. I have heard about this before but this simply takes the cake. Garcia was being disrespectful with the time allotments. He handled it well at the start of the scuffle though, but he should've controlled his team like stop Rios from egging people on and telling Ariza to pipe down. Ariza is a total scumbag. I think we can all agree with this. Surprised Rios was the one who acted all calm and cool about everything. Really hard to hate on the man (except for that instance with Margarito where they insulted Roches' Parkinson's).
He (Roach) was told they would be another half hour and they would leave when they were good and ready. So who started it? Freddy is a disciplined trainer who expected that since he was paying for the time to use that space, he was entitled to let them know that he wasnt going to bend over so that Ariza could feel "empowered" or whatever trip he was on. Given he mere fact that someone that you had just fired was glaring right at you, well it would set me off too.hat:fire
Where did you ever here that team Rios said they'd be another 30 minutes. Must have been from the mouth of Freddie Roach and we all allready know that he fabricates stories to suit his agenda. Whether it was 5 minutes or 5 hours, you still take the issue up with the person in charge of renting the gym
I would not take offense to anyone calling me a white boy that is all Bernard said Floyds statement was "Silly Little .Yellow CHUMP!! We are going to cook him with the cats & dogs" Are you honestly sayin you cannot see the difference??? GGG has called his opponents "good boys" was he being racist???
He (Roach) was told they would be another half hour and they would leave when they were good and ready Not true Freddie was just told to " Get ****ed we'll leave when we are ready" which was not complying with the agreed schedule
At least Hatton got a level playing field against Manny. He didn't against Floyd & his minder/bodyguard Joe Cortez Ariza is just plain scum of the earth no argument here
2 things. 1 ). What Bernard Hopkins said can and will be construed as racist. Hopkins clearly stated he would never let a "white boy" beat him...!!! That infact exemplifies a racial statement; claiming someone can not or will not do something based on the color of their skin...!!! That would be in line with Calvin Coolidge's infamous statement that he will never let a "black man" vote...!!! Same type of racial rheotorical BS from both Hopkins and Coolidge...!!! 2 ). How the hell is GGG saying opponents are "good boys" considered racist...??? You need to learn the definitions of racist and/or racism...!!!
i also heard or read this, not sure if it was from Roach or not. Apparently he went in and was told he had to wait 30 more minutes. Again, it's hard for us to appreciate the tone or exact sequence of things. For instance, Freddie coming in and immediately telling them to go get the f out of there whilst calling Garcia a piece of sht if very different than someone telling Freddie "we will be here another 30 minutes and you will have to wait" in a rather confrontational tone. So, there are little gestures, tones, expressions, body language we are not purview to which can totally change the atmosphere. What if they had had an altercation in the past, Freddie told them to please respect time and then he shows up and they are clowning around telling him to shut up and wait 30 mins. We were not there so... The most rational version is that someone provoked Roach, Roach lost his temper, talked badly at Garcia, Ariza got into the convo and then all hell broke loose. The 'mexican' racial slur was totally appropriate if you see how that littrle piece of sh i t acted. The kick would've probably never happened if ariza wouldn't have stuck his nose into the convo, Garcia would've asked Ariza to back off but most importantly if Ariza would've never made fun of Roach's disability right in is face. Once again, everyone on this forum would've wanted to rip ariza's eyes out of eye sockets if he would've made fun of your disability, in your face. end of story...
Really? Roach is a man thats known to tell people to **** off for insignificant reasons. A man that publicly has had hate words to say about Nacho Beristain for as little reason as someone told him Nacho said something negative about him. Someone who's threatened beat reporters at his gym on more than one occasion........ ......the man has a track record, something Garcia does not. What does this mean you tell me? It means that anything that comes from Freddie Roach's mouth you take with a grain of salt.
boxers get punchy, and don't need a reason to come out swinging. I have had to watch myself when I get in a fighting mood- thats a sign that a ex-fighter has taken on a lot of damage, and thats not just an excuse. I try to be careful, but under pressure and facing someone you dont like or respect can easily bring out the fighter in ex fighters. Sometimes you dont even have to know the person before flipping out. Jus saying thats all hat
