I think this is the most accurate post. I believe (hope?) that once again, a promoter is going to **** over Tua. (hope Tua’s not doing it to himself I mean) I realise that everyone is responsible for themselves, but Tua really has had a number done on him by his promoters. And who could blame him for losing his desire for boxing after the way Barry and Pugh completely screwed him? (Tua should have stayed with Duva IMO, but I suspect Barry and Pugh conned him with something like sticking with other Kiwis etc). Kushner is going to **** up the last chance Tua had to do anything as a heavy, and as a huge Tua fan, it pisses me off.
I think if Kushner and Tua miss out on this fight, a bunch of the long-standing fans may desert them. Sadly I really think this is so.
In order to be in the top 10 (at least my top 10), you need to be fighting more than once a decade. If you want to discuss skill then sure, Tua MIGHT be a top 10 guy...but he's done nothing in the past 2-3 years to make me believe he's a top 10 fighter anymore.
Tua is not top 20. If he beats (fights) Arreola and wins, he becomes top 10. But I think Tua has priced himself out of the fight. A young and hungry fighter like Arreola doesn't wait too long for another fight with someone else. And then it's back to fighting the Cerrone Fox's for $25,000. BTW, Tua calls the shots, not Kushner. Kushner is trying to recoup the money Tua owes him. Tua signed for a two year deal in March, 2008. If Tua doesn't fight, CK doesn't get paid. Of course Tua got screwed by Barry and Peewww. But it was 5 years ago. Get over it. Fighting Fox like opponents isn't sweet revenge.
Tua is finished. All he ever does is to unfruitfully negotiate fights that end up falling through. He has hardly fought in years now and when he has, it´s been against weak opposition. I watched the fight against Caisse Salif, which he won by split decision (one judge awarded it to Salif that is) and I felt he he simply lost that fight. Salif is no contender and this was in 2005. Hardly impressive. It´s really a shame cause Tua is one of the best ever heavyweights never to win a world title. I feel he may well have deserved the win vs Ike and if it hadn´t been for all his financial and promotional problems, I´m sure he could have won a belt in the weak and splintered division after his fight with Lewis.
Are you freaking joking? Arreola can beat Wlad? Welcome to boxing, we have a door prize for you on the way in.
Yeah don't waste your money on things like I have, Signed Lennox Lewis gloves. Get handwraps from a guy who ran for 12 rounds and robbed someone else of a decision. Worst decision I have ever seen. Great purchase. Have you considered becoming a financial advisor?
Very dumb move on Kushner's part and Tua will live to regret it. He has seemingly missed out on a cross roads fight, payday, and a potential payday should he have won. I mean, a convincing win, or just a win may have put him back in the mix at least. All this is enough to just turn some casual Tua fans away from him, which is a shame. I think we have seen the end of Tua.
Yes - this is the worst disaster yet. (Apart from Lewis, that is). Why would someone flush their career down the toilet this way?
I can understand getting a signed glove of a fighter, actual trunks they wore, but handwraps? It's bizarre to say the least.
Man I have over 45 diff boxers auto's so big deal you have a one auto by lennox lewis smart ass *******, ever heard of kelly pavlik or ray boom boom mancini,, I have both of their autos + a dual auto of both of them on one card
