Probably against somebody somewhat good in an eliminator.

I would hope it's against someone who can punch a little who has a great chin. Kid needs to learn how to go 12 rounds and how to survive when he's run out of gas, and that just isn't happening.

it will probably be the winner of toney v thompson seen as both are promoted by goosen tutor who as you know promotes arreola

How about Oliver McCall? I reckon he'd take the fight, and he's still a name. Juan Carlos Gomez is getting a title shot having beaten him, which should be intriguing for Arreola's team.
He's also old and slowed down, so Arreola ought to be able to get a points win on activity, like Gomez.

A fight against another American clubfighter (best to keep him at his level)

Kali Meehan or Ray Austin would be a good progression for him. Eventually Dimitrenko prior to the real test.

Meehan and McCall were good suggestions IMO. Larry Donald might be another one who's a little safer, even though he's older than dirt. I doubt Goosen puts Arreola against one of his own old fighters who he might lose to (I mean, what does Goosen have to gain if Thompson beats him, which he probably would? Little to nothing.)

Can Arreola beat Povetkin? If he does he would be #1 challenger for the IBF title.
