Same here. More of a Kovalev fan and would like him to win cuz I would LOVE to see the highly anticipated (to me at least) unification fight of Kovalev-Stevenson. I think it has the potential to be an absolute WAR.

However, if Ward does pull off the win, I would not be upset at all. That would just mean we are living in the era of one of the greatest boxers of all time. Same if Kovalev pulls off the win.

Beterbiev would have zero problems walking through Ward's counters and muscling Ward around the ring like a pro wrestler with a rag doll, but let's see him walk through Kovalev and eat his counters with ease though. Styles make fights, Kovalev's style is terrible for Ward, and he'll beat Andre, but Beterbiev's style might be a little more terrible for him than Kovalev's.

I still believe Beterbiev is a much worse stylistic matchup for Ward as Kovalev is, and for Kova I see Ward as the harder fight.

You do realize that Beterbiev competed at HW as an amateur right? And gave Usyk one of his toughest fights in the ams. Yeah Artur would walk right through Ward's pitty pats, and so can Kovalev.

I don't correlate the amatuers to the pros, as it's totally different. That said Kovalev is the better well rounded fighter over Beterbiev which is why it's going to be a difficult fight for Ward. Beterbiev is seek and destroy, Ward's experience would nullify his offense.. He knows when to hold and when to engage. I think he'll frustrate Artur after the first 5 rounds and he'll be following Ward around getting punched IN THE face.. Kovalev is the tougher fight.

We both know when a fighter can't figure out his opponent, and can't land flush they soon go into survival mode. That's what I think happens to Beterbiev if he fights Ward, after he beats Kovalev..... if it happens.

That's saying IQ doesn't correlated with success in life as it's "totally different". Yet there's a strong correlation. Success in amateur boxing and professional boxing is strongly correlated.

No its not like saying that, at all. Amatuers you fight with headgears, in the pros you dont.. you have some highly touted amatuers and Olympians that never become world champs in pro boxing. So I think your little comparisons are way overblown.

And you really don't need an high IQ to be successful in anything. All it takes is hard work, determination, ambition, passion and always believe in yourself..

And you have people who have genius level IQ who are homeless bums. Still IQ is correlated with success with life.

If you take 50 gold medal winners from the Olympics who turned professional their professional career prospects (statistically) are MUCH better than 50 random professional boxers in a control group.

I left more in my response to your first post, so I'd like you to go read it. Thanks.

And the second part, that maybe true about gold medal winners, but how many amatuers make the Olympics, or how many amatuers even medal? What you do in the amatuers doesn't always turn well for you in the pros.. that's the point I'm trying to make... for example, Ricardo Williams was a silver medalist, never won a world title. Andre Dirrell, a bronze medalist, never won a world title. . Joe Calzaghe never made the Olympic team, is considered the ATG super MW. It doesn't always correlate, like you think.

No, he has to win a final eliminator to be ranked number 1.
