Waiting for the correct time to make more money ? That's why there's only a big fight every 5 months for god sake. If there were more fights, they would be making less money per fight, but probably more overall because it would garner more fans and more money on a weekly basis.

That kind of bull**** is not helping the sport. These guys are too short sighted. Look at the other sports ! I can watch hockey, football and basetball live for free on tv. It keeps the sport popular, which garner more external revenues (t-shirts, other crap, etc...). You think the superbowl would be free if Arum was in charge ? Not a chance in hell and he wouldn't be paid millions from budweiser to put their commercials.

And Devon Alexander didn't deserve anymore hype. Crap.

those other sports are controlled by one company or organization.. boxing has too many.. even mixed martial arts is dominated by the UFC so they can do WTF they want because there's no competition

In boxing is different you have too many boxers with all kinds of managers and promoters and all of them are pulling in different directions and that's what ****ing the sport of

I agree, needs to be more demand for the fight. Juanma is ready. Gamboa needs more exposure. Who is promoting Gamboa? Dosn't Arum have him? Why is he not in more shows like Pacquaio undercard?

Arum is full of ****. I cant believe people are siding with him. Thats why he is a promoter i guess. He can preach to the unaware.

Alexander-Bradley was never going to be a good fight. The styles did not make for it. But it gave us clarity and we are now 1 fight away from having a 140lb king which is one of the divisions that has been classified as having the most talent. Its nice to have that.
Think of all the loaded divisions that dont have a clear top guy.
SMW is one of them. So much talent there but even now or after the tournament we wont have a clear number 1. The winner would have to face Bute which will take about 1-2 years.
Bantamweight has been boiling for a while and we still dont have a winner. WE have to wait for the winner of the tournament to face Montiel-Donaire winner.
WW when it was hot with Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Clottey, Cintron, PW and PBF we never got who was a true number 1 because of the "mega" fights.

**** the mega fights. Get us a quick clear number 1 in the division and the mega fights will build themselves. Once there is a top guy there will be other "bottom" guys fighting their asses off to get to be that top guy.
I can guarantee you the winner of Khan-Bradley will be a mega star. Yes even Bradley whos fanbase is small but once he becomes the man more people will take notice and identify him as the man.

What Arum is talking about is just finances for himself. Put in Gamboa and JML and im sure it will be Hagler-Hearns. Who the hell wouldnt want to watch that again!?!?!?

I completely disagree. The best should fight the best, period.

In a perfect world that's how it would happen, but is not a perfect world especially in boxing. When you got guys like DLH coming in and getting paid 10 to 20 millions right of the bat without accomplishing anything then is not a fair sport.

Bob Arum needs to start thinking about himself. Doesn't he want to see this fight? He could die at any moment.

Although im one of the few that likes Arum, i have to disagree with him here. There's no point in building up a Bradley-Alexander, because either could have lost prior to that matchup. It's not like they are 2 unbeatable juggernauts in the division. Same with Lopez/Gamboa. They are 2 VERY good fighters, but anything can happen in boxing & they could lose before the match takes place
