Dan Rafael also said that Top Rank are interested in a tournament involving Soto, Acosta and Vazquez. He didn't mention anything about JMM or Katsidis. If we're being realistic, JMM won't take part in this. He'll be looking for big money and the names mentioned are virtual unknowns (apart from Soto).

But a Top Rank tournament would be nice, even if it's just the 3 title holders and one other fighter (Barrera?). We'd end up with a unified WBC/IBF/WBA champion who could make fights against Katsidis or JMM and unify all 4 titles.

However, I don't see this happening. Arum always has these "bright ideas" that never work out

Not enough big names at 135 to make it that intresting. At 140 it would defiently work with Khan, Bradley, Alexander, Marquez, Madiana, Witter, Judah and Paulie.

BNarrera would be ideal, as long as he's got enough left for 3 hard 12 rounders

A good 4 for Arum, I assumed the other two would be David Diaz and Old Barrera

He says it's 'not realistic' but I guess any talk if he and Golden Boy working together again is good news, they should all stop being big babies (yeah that's right, I used 'babies to describe 'em, a new low? Maybe) and sort themselves out, we will continue to miss out on big fights if these two don't stop being ****s (back to form) although it appears to be mainly Arum, 112 years old at the last time of checking, who appears to be the most childish.

    He hasn't.

And you go on to suggest Katsidis!!! Terrible match-up for MAB at this stage IMO, do you want to see your man get hurt?!?

I think Soto would be too sharp at this stage, though Barrera could undoubtedly pull it off. But anyone bigger thanthat and I'd suggest for him to steer away.

i was just suggesting Kats should feature in a lightweight tournement if there was 1, imo he deserves it, not that i would want him to face Marco, it would probly be over in 6. kats would be to big, to strong and to relentless for marco at this stage of his career

P.S. u need another man for ''stars of future'' team

I kinda agree that there aren't really enough names at 135 to make it work well. But it would still be great as the best would be fighting the best. Without JMM and Katsidis (who could well fight each other anyway) it would be really lacking though.

I think that Arum should go ahead with it with his fighters regardless. It would be excellent for his fighters to build at least one of them as a genuine top contender in the division. Especially for Humberto Soto who has been nothing short of a joke as a LW champ.

    I agree with this ^^^

A quick tourney with semis over 10 rounds and a final three months after over 12 will set up a block buster for the Marquez vs Katsidis winner, if it happens.

If it doesn't and Marquez fights Khan, Katsidis could rematch Diaz or fight the WBO #1 and take on the winner anyway.

JMM is much too high above those guys. JMM should mix it up with Katsidis and then go to 140. At 140 he can mix with Khan and co. Those no names can fight to replace JMM at 135.
