I agree. I have been saying this for a long time...Peter has a weight problem. He should be around 240 at the most. I think he would be a much better fighter. 260-265 INO shows Peters lack of commitment. If Peter comes in at 260, it will be a very long (actually quick-early ko) night for Peter

NO WAY! Vitali is way to smart to just stand there and exchange power shots. As we all know Vitalis boxing ability is much much better than Peters. Vitali will box and break Peter down, then he will go in for the kill

I dont think its all about power. Peter cannot even come close to boxing Vitali. IMO vitali will box4-5 rounds, break Peter then start with the power

Why can't he come close? He has an aggressive style and knows how to double up and step into his jab. He has the perfect aggressive style to catch that herky jerky motion. Vitlay leans back he catches a flush jab clean on his whiskers.

Not saying he won't take Sammy's punch. Just that Vitlay outboxing Sammy with 4 years off and back injuries seems far-fetched.

Vitaly's defence is actually damn good. He does things wrong but got away with it due to good reflexes and great height.

Unless he is shot, that will be the case against Peter.

I just dont see Peter "boxing" Vitali. I think Sam will be looking for the "1 huge punch" to end things and I think Vitali is expecting that and will "box" in the beginning. The longer the fight goes, the worse it will be for Sam, especially if his weight is up there

If history is any indication of Sam Peter's progress throughout a fight you'll be mistaken. He has always done well as a fight goes longer. He takes some licks early but he hangs around and starts putting that jab in your face. It can be a real menace if you tire easily (as these big guys do).

As Scar said, Vitlay will probably have a good first round. That wouldn't surprise me. But I highly doubt he will be able to keep Sam off of him as Sam will get more and more brave and will start putting that jab to work.

Vitlay is also massively overrated on his defense. He was easily hit by Sanders just laying on the ropes. Sanders never even went after Vitlay except those couple times he hurt him. Post Vitlay falling in and giving up his height. Lewis did a number on his face with cuts because Vitlay fails to tie up properly and so he eats punches in close and on the end trying to back up.

In boxing, no matter how tall you are, backing straight up is the worst mistake you can make. Now you'll get away with it against a 30lb overweight Kirk Johnson, or a bad balance Danny Williams. But against an aggressive guy like Sam Peter who knows how to throw a jab, who has good balance, you are looking for trouble. Anytime Waldo tried to back away from Sam he ate flush punches. When Julius Long backed straight up he ate right hands. So did McCline when McCline retreated to the ropes.

Sam has a very good long range right hand that if you back away from has more chance of hitting you. Historically he has had more issues landing the right hand when guys come at him and smother it. When they back off he lands it regularly. If it weren't for McCline's massive chin I believe it would have been very noticeable.

 

Anyone who thinks they can look at what Peter did to James Toney and think he will do that to Vitali are mistaken. Yes Peter was able to jab a fat midget. He will not be able to jab Vitali who has almost a 7 inch height advantage and a huge reach advantage also. It is almost comical reading about this Peter jab that he could only land on James Toney with success.

Its like all of a sudden Peter has a jab to beat all jabs. His jab sucks. He pushes it most of the time and his hand drops after he throws it and he will get countered by Vitali when Peter throws that weak ass jab
