There was a Cruiser from Japan back in the 90s he fought at the Great Western Forum a couple times, was also talked about being an opponent for Michael Moorer.

That's the guy who lost to Oleksandr Usyk at 201 correct?

Chagaev is an ethnic Tatar which are Mongol/Turkic mix, presumably he's heavy on the Turkic based on his looks but he is asian

Zhang who's 6'7. He was supposed to fight Glazkov in the semi's but got a buy because Glazkov injured his arm. Glazkov and him fought in the 07 worlds and Glazkov spanked him. Zhang is big but quite slow.

Would it really have made you that much happier if the thread starter had specified that he meant Mongoloid heavies?

Well it depends on one's definition of asian. David Tua is Samoan. Some Samoans do recognize themselves as asian. In general, some people do consider Samoans as asians.

:lol: I didnt know Roach trained him at 1:33 giving him water.

I remember when he beat fringe contender Leoanardo Aguilar at the forum,at one time i thought Nisijima had a shot at one of the alphabet titles.

Yeah, it's going to take some time as a few ppl mentioned earlier. If you look at MMA, there are plenty of Asians fighting in the HW division. One Japanese dude nearly knocked out Fedor Emelianenko. Who's to say one of these days an Asian HW won't choose Boxing over MMA? If there are Asian HWs in MMA then there will be Asian HWs in Boxing one day.

Samoans don't consider themselves Asian at all...we are Polynesian by definition.Chinese migration occurred in Samoa during the early 1900's with the Germans shipping them there but that's as far as it goes.
