SOB is a "Legend within his own mind." Kovalev beat SOB, still the light heavyweight champion in the eyes of a vast majority of fans, boxing writers, boxers, etc., even Mayweather said that Kovalev won, so did Sanchez, etc., that fight was not close!
I scored it 115-113 to Ward, close fight but ward won, I think in a rematch Ward can only improve, he's not going to lose the first 3 rounds like last time
Good case Kovalev swept the first 6 rounds. I gave Ward round 5 but watching again it was a toss up. Kovalev also took round 10 and 12 for me. With 7 going to Ward close. 7-5 or 8-4 Kovalev plus the KD Threw more: check Landed more: check Landed the cleaner harder shots: check Scored the knockdown: check Controlled the range: check Didn't have a mark on him:check Robbed by the judges: check Basically controlled the fight. Ward survived, backed up constantly never landed a combination and didn't throw enough. Competitive but clear Sergey win.
Ward/Kovalev reminds me of Pac/Bradley I and even going further back Oscar/Trinidad. It's a situation where if the other guy won there wouldn't be any fuss made because they weren't toss up fights, but you have people that want Kovalev, Pac, and Oscar to lose so badly, they will accept this poor judging and make up all sorts of wild excuses to justify the verdicts.
Great reply. Exactly right. If Kovalev won, there would be nobody complaining that Ward was robbed and the same goes for Bradley and Oscar in those fights you listed. The people who "wanted" Kovalev to lose are 99 percent of the people defending the decision. I call it how I see it and Kovalev got robbed.
