    Leonard, Napoles, and Tito.

Napoles is the best of the bunch his defense and offense are so well balanced that he was always a threat at every moment of the fight. He did not have to transition from either mindset.

I hate to be plain but its obvious Leonard is much better than Hearns. Plenty of video to support my claim.

Tito is about even with him in all regards except chin. Tito had a much better chin.

I think Armstrong is too small and would struggle to get inside Hearns without taking afew bombs on the way in, and Hearns was a massive Middleweight puncher in a Welterweights body against a Lightweight in a Lightweights body fighting at Welterweight.

I rate Armstrong very highly indeed but I dare say Hearns could and probably would stop him.

How about Barney Ross vs Hearns?

What a load of crock  Leonard is much better than Hearns, is that why Hearns battered him in the rematch and Hearns was outboxing him until late?

Tito has an equal jab to Hearns? Equal speed to Hearns? Tito has equal skill?

The only BS comments about Walker are the idiots like you picking him to beat Hearns. He lost to every skilled boxer he faced at 147, lost to the skilled boxers he faced at 175 and 160 and hes facing 1 far better than anyone hes ever faced by all likelyhood

More to do with him not having a jab, not having the skill he'd later develop and pretty much takin the role of an unskilled brawler

    Kinda how I see it.

Ross is one of the most well rounded and versatile fighters there has ever been. I just dont think he is spectacular enough in one area to beat Hearns. Saying that could he jab with Hearns? he had a brilliant jab, but could he get inside that reach to establish it?

He would definitly come on strong late against Hearns could he finish him off? I doubt it but he would definitly win afew rounds big at the end IMO.

I just can't see a definitive plan for Ross to follow.

    What do you think?

Indeed. The guys that troubled Hearns the most were fighters who could walk through the storm and stay on top of Hearns at every moment. Classic boxers and counter punchers wouldn't have much hope as Hearns had incredible length and height and used them beautifully. Though Ross had a great jab and workrate I'm not quite sure he could get the job done.

Nah not for me, he has got no fighters of any 'Hearns' calibre on that record, ive seen Trinidads whole career .. The only great fighter he fought was Pernell who was past it .... Vargas and Carr ?? are you kidding me ?
Trinidad capitalised on the fact he was a big puncher in the era when the hype surrounding Mike Tyson was in over-drive .... Dont get me wrong Felix Trinidad was a very good fighter at 147, but we are talking about him going in with The 'Hitman' here and all i can see is carnage .. In fact this could be a 3/4 rd knockout for Hearns .... Tommy was a sensational fighter in a time when fighters had to EARN their stripes before the big bucks. The 90's was a time were IMAGE earned reputation and therefore earned big bucks .. The Tyson/Media years changed everything for boxing. Pre Tyson, talent was rewarded, after Tyson Image counted for 75% of everything ..

    Again

Is it becoz he is white?

Why not, arguably one of the most skilled Lightweights/Welterweights of all time? Very versatile with an excellant left jab.

Oh yeh, his main weakness I forgot about, he is white. No way can he win according to you.

    :lol::lol:

Winky proved that Felix gets insulted if you miss him with a jab,and Hearns had a very fast accurate one, he would stick Trinidad allnight ,then drop the right hand in on him, good night!

Were thinking the same. Armstrong could definitly walk through the storm and keep on the pressure but at what cost? And it would be catching up on him as every round wore by.
