I've read it and it is not a biography in the normal sense, written in the late 40's I think. I found it rather a chore to read to be honest and have been waiting for a more modern version of his story to come out. Although from what Klompton says I'm rather wary of spending a fortune on it if its going to be innaccurate, hopefully he gets his finger out and finishes his version soon. Just like waiting for a bus, you wait ages and then two come along, much like the two recent Billy Conn books, I haven't read the 'Sweet William' version, but have read reviews that do not find it very impressive.
I only have Kennedy's bio of Conn, and I'd like it to have used more local sources than it does. Kinda like two Burley's books give a better coverage of Pittsburg newspapers. Maybe I'm spoiled by Adam's books, I dunno.
I have crossed swords with Klompton a couple of times ,but he seems to have really researched his subject ,I think I would wait for that one .
