No. 140 wouldnt be a push. Pac weighed 148 (I think) for the Margo weigh in without any attempts to drain and taking in a ridiculous amount of calories. 8 pounds would be easy to lose.

135, maybe you're right. I think he could do it based on the weight classes he came from and his small stature. Even guys with the same height/reach such as Cotto and Hatton, he looked much smaller than them.

144 or something vs Margarito...but that was after he decided he actually wanted to stop adding as much weight as possible and keep his speed. I don't think making 140lbs is as easy as people are saying, especially when considering the time he has spent up at Welter. You naturally grow into the weight, and that in turn makes it harder for you to drop weight.

1 or 2 bouts max at 140 and Pacquiao would have to move back up to 147lbs.

Pac probably looks much smaller than me then, even though he's heavier.

He was weighing 148 but wanted to retain his speed so resumed normal training without the extra calories (weighed in at 144lbs), if I remember rightly. 8 pounds is not easy to lose, especially when you take in to consideration the extra muscle he has added on to his frame since the DLH bout.

Pac's fight night weight is 149. What other welters climb the ring at that weight? In comparison, Tim Bradley also climbed the ring at 149 and Devon Alexander even higher at 152 I believe, and those 2 fought at Jr-Welter.

He's born to dominate the lightweight and Light WW's...

But because he is "special" he can take on the higher weights as well.

Yes but when you are not dehydrating or weighing on an empty stomach, a lot of that is water weight and the food in your body.

This isn't like Roy Jones going back to Light Heavy after the Ruiz fight, which is what people tend to think of first when fighters drop down in weight.

He only gained four pounds after the 144 weigh in for Margarito. He makes light welterweight very easily and can very possibly dehydrate to 135 without too much problem. He doesn't want to, reasonably, and has no real reason to. Although it would be cool as **** to gain the lineal lightweight title against JMM who is only weighing in three pounds lighter on fight night. It wouldn't happen though.

Yeah he is walking in fully hydrated, well fed, happy, and I think this actually makes him stronger than a lot of his dehydrated and sickly opponents ... but he still just seems somewhat vulnerable to the punches of such large guys, which is why I think if he planned on fighting for the next five years 140 might be where its at (8 pounds is easy to sweat and starve off if its just water and being "full" of food)

I know it's nothing like Jones moving back down to Light Heavy. But if you have ever boxed, if you stay at a weight for a long enough time (Pacquiao has)...it makes it difficult to move back down and make that weight comfortably again. Everyone seems to think Pacquiao can switch between 140 and 147 with ease, it's not that simple at all. Which was why I said, if Pacquiao were to move back to 140lbs, he would only be there for 1 or 2 bouts max before he starts to struggle.

Ariza's been forcing Pacquiao to eat more food to make him a stronger welterweight, and even then he's failed to weigh heavier than 144 on weigh-in night. Then on the following night, he climbs in the ring at only 148 - that's just a pound over the welterweight limit! Even the junior welterweights like Maidana, Khan, Bradley and Alexander - who all make 140 comfortably - come in the ring at 149. So if they can cut approximately 9 pounds, I'm pretty sure Pacquiao could do too.

Nah, man. He doesn't make 135lbs without too much problem at all at this point. He would look like this again.
